Fallkniven U2 youtube review..I agree!

Oh, you have to get one. The steel is unlike any other. It's not pretty, but it takes a great edge and holds it. If it was on a Spyderco, it would be perfect.

I had one and had to sell it. The knife itself was nice but the part of the blade I've highlighted in this photo was sharp and I was always scraping my hand on it when I went to retrieve it out of my pocket. I'm not even sure why it sticks out like that but it is sharp. Anyone else have that problem?

its pronounced FÄLLKNIVEN!!
dumbass
lol

and it dosnt need a pocketclip, a pocketclip only shows everybody you are carrying a knife, and that is the last thing you want to do
screw pocketclips!

for the rest i agree with the review, same here it is the sharpest knife i have ever had!

and i dread the day it dulls, coz i wont be able to get it that sharp again, at least for a long while

spyderco sharpener sharpness doesnt even come close to U2 out of the box sharpness!

hehe its that guy with the clock in the background, isnt he also a member of BF?
you should see his U2 vid of whitteling a hair

You can "break" that sharp corner just a tad with a fine stone.

And sharpening is no sweat if you start with diamond and then go to stone.

Got one in my pocket now.

Fileworked, of course.

Now, FILEWORKING stumped me a bit as that center core doesn't like to be cut.

So only did a bit of it.

:)

He says SGPS is the best there is out there... Well, that may have been true of production knives a few years ago, but we've come a long way.
That's only with alloy's currently available in production knives, some of the stuff Crucible comes up with is pretty crazy.

I've EDC'd my U-2 from the day I got it, great knife.

Dude, you need to back off. Pronunciation is not a big deal. You get so wound up.

But, I agree with you about FELL(k)NIVEN. More than scary-sharp out of the box.

I have carried the U2 as an EDC for several years. The knife is ultra sharp and great steel, lightweight and small enough for easy carry within an accessory pocket (I carry it in a sleeve pocket on my jacket). The knife is sheeple friendly and well made.

The sheeple friendly aspect cannot be overstated. When I need to make sure that I don't appear threatening, I grab either the U2 or a very pink salmon Case Barlow.

Wow only 60$ that just might be my next purchase and would certainly make a great gift.

The only thing keeping me from buying that little knife is that it doesnt have a thumb stud and a pocket clip. Don't like nail nicks.

There are entire threads about how to pronounce the names of various knife companies, including the one in the video. I finally found one elsewhere that linked to an audio file where it was pronounced Fell-Kneeven (bad phonetic spelling; k is pronounced).

Anyways, his review made me want to try a U2, when I can.

I have carried one for several years, and agree with all the positive comments; but, have also noticed the sharp butt-end of the blade, and have often wondered why this minor defect wasn't addressed on a otherwise great folder. I kinda' solved the problem for myself by attaching a short lanyard, and using that to retrieve it from my pocket.

This is one folder I don't feel a need for a pocket clip and thumb stud/hole. :)

how would this steel compare to D2 in edge holding an sharpness maybe against a dozier blade

I have had one of these fellers since Jan 08 , it was sharp out of the box , but with some help from the Spyderco Sharpmaker , it cuts better than the video example.

I carry this as my EDC , in a custom leather stud belt pouch, and it is a nice knife for showing in company . No screams from the amazed!!

I bought on for my dad. He love's it. I was worried that it wouldn't hold up well. Dad is always scraping and prying with his pocket knife and I thought it would have chipping problems. No problems so far and he's given it a beating for over a year.

fällkniven means folding knife in swedish for anyone that cares, also pronouced fell-kneevin.
