I've handle both F1 and S1 : personnaly, for general uses, i would use the F1 : it's strong, versatile and i find it more manageable for me (i'm not a big man 
) than the S1...But of course, the S1 would be a better choice if you do prying or some chopping...
By the way, you just can't go wrong with one of them : for the money they're really hard to beat (if not "unbeatable" : Swamp Rat may produce good knife, even stronger (but i don't think i can use my F1 so hard that i can break it...), but the delays are ...wow...: i'm waiting for a Camp Tramp since February...)!
