I'm one of the few who don't like the S1. Had one and sold it. I have no information on other models or Fallkniven in general but the S1 handle was small (short and thin) and the convex edge was very sharp but didn't bite wood like I want my knives to. Had I been satisfied with the handle the edge would have been no major problem. I would have probably modified it to suit my needs better. But the molded(?) handle was poor so there wasn't much I could do. The leather sheath was fine.
The Becker BK7 by KaBar is a fine knife in your price criteria. Mine was delivered today. I was surprised by a little BK13 hiding in the sheath with its big brother. I like the handle very much. Balance and weight is perfect for camping and sticking a boar if the .45 jams. I have a Mule in the sheath pocket. That covers the bases for me when hunting and camping.
Scroll down to the Bushcraft Knife. Not pretty but very functional and well within your price range. Haven't used one myself but at that price it's hard to go wrong.
Fällkniven makes good knives, but the basics aren't very "showy." The fit and finish isn't particularly excellent - there's a good chance you will see cosmetic flaws that do not affect performance, such as uneven grinds, wavy lamination lines, and small nicks and dents here and there (but not on the edge). The normal Kraton/Thermorun handled Fällknivens aren't pretty, they're just good knives for use. The Northern Lights and the folders are for the flashy uses, but they are expensive.
In that price range, you could get a Mora, a Bahco Laplander saw and a machete. You'd have all your needs covered. And depending on the deals you get, you may even have enough left over for a nice meal or some other gear like an alox farmer.
