We are having a good ole snow storm up here in Vancouver. My wife and I love snow shoeing and bought our son a pair for Christmas.

It dawned on me that if one ever needed a net...a sports field could be a place to procure one. Only in case of societal collapse or maybe an economic downturn ;) Just kidding though.

A final pic of the snow shoes we used! I was surprised that my son's pair worked so well. They are called monster dinos, cost $30.

Nice monster shoes!

I was hoping to use mine...uh, snow shoes that is...today.

Not enough snow. :(

I'm really starting to get depressed - psy-op's son has better snowshoes than I do, koyote's son has better knives, and Cmdr249's son has a better PSK. :(

Guess I have to buy some new gear. :o

Nice pictures, Chris, what's your son doing in this one? Wave Hands as Clouds? :D

theres some decent trails up at sfu, never done them in the snow though. nice pics.

you should go and toboggan at the park (playground of the gods) near the burnaby mountain restaurant.

cheers

Cool shots psyops and cute son. Send some of that snow back east will yeah? I miss the stuff already!

Jca21, yeah I got to try that place. I heard about it.

Doc, I wish I had your knowledge along with my gear. My son was doing the ancient Taoist practice called snow angel, the worst part is cleaning up after it.

kgd, I don't think I know a good snow dance in my repertoire :)

Been an awesome day

Psy-ops, your son's dino shoes make must a very impressive footprint in the snow:D Looks like I have the same or similar shoes as you do, are those the Tubbs Altitudes?

Great pics buddy, my wife wants some snowshoes like your kids now, she says do they do Penguin feet as well !!!!

Looks like a great time. Now all ya need is an ahkio and the gear toi make a weekend of it.

Those are great pics!

The pictures with your son are great! I love his snow shoes. I will to look for some for my boy.

I have always wanted to try snow shoeing but we don't have any snow right now.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the responses.

Pit, I am not sure about the penguin feet there was bear ones but they didn't receive high ratings. My son really loved it. It was his first real snow. He walked for an hour straight and then started to get sloppy and fell alot. We called it day.

It is great exercise too!
