Famous collectors

I came across this tonight. Read the "facts" part. (It may be common knowledge, but it was news to me)

I brings up a curious question (or 3).. What kind (type) of knives does she collect? And who else famous collects them?

I also wonder... Have any custom makers (reading this) made any for a famous person?

I suppose I'm curious because they (some) may be here quietly reading/posting right along with the rest of us.

The new issue of Blade Magazine (May 2001) has an article about David Crosby of CSN&Y. He's been collecting knives since the 60's. Neil Young BTW is heavy into LioneL trains.

David are you reading this?

So far I haven't seen anybody who is a "Famous" collector identify themselves, and I'm sure the makers respect their clients wishes to remain unidentified. I know of several famous makers who are "Lurkers" here.

May 2001 is the new issue? March 2001 is the latest I have, and I didn't get it that long ago....

On one of my tire-kicking trips to Paragon Sporting Goods in NYC, I seem to remember hearing from one of the staff that Robert DeNiro was a repeat customer of theirs, and that he tended toward fancy-handled customs. I'm now sure if he collected them, or just used them...

JP Moss has made bowies for Clint Eastwood (used in the movie "Unforgiven" and ones for his personal collection)....as well as for Sam Elliot for his Lonesome Dove roles.

Jack Crain has made knives for Arnie...(movies to include..."Commando"....and "Predator").

I'm sure their are more famous collectors out there...I'm just sure of the ones that have knives from the same makers that I do.
