how do you finish the edges on a dagger??
this is the first time ive tried to make a dagger and so far all is well. well almost, was taking handles off after contouring and split one of the scales. and now have to waste another set of pretty wood on this thing. this is the third set first were buffallo horn. its like im not meant to finish this piece.

anyway my question is, the grinds on the blade are flat and pretty steep angles, the tip is very pointy sharp but i didnt know if the edge was actually supposed to be cutting sharp?? i mean its meant for one thing sticking and once the tip penetrates the rest will follow . right? how do you finish the edge? by the way its made from 2 bars of cable.

I'm in the middle of a dagger project right now too and had decided to make it all deadly sharp. Even though I know as soon as the customer gets it he's going to haul it down to the Pioneer Bar and all of his friends are going to get cut with it. I'll think of it as good advertising :D

It would be nice sharp IMO, because it is a quality knife and can take a keen edge.
