Fang w/ Scales!

I just had my friend Bub Worrell put thin grey/black rag Micarta scales on my Fang.
Wow! What a knife! Hey Mr. Taylor, how about slapping some G-10 on some Fangs & Utilities- I'm willing to bet there's a brand new audience out there for them. If you've never tried it, you'll love it- really doesn't add to the thickness that much & improves grip by 100%.
I'll post a photo as soon as I figure out how...

wooahh, that sounds too cool. my only complaints about the Fang are no ridges for the thumb and the handle- i would have loved something like that done. How much did he charge you for that work, how much would he charge me?! that would look awesome with the sheaths Chiro is gonna get me...

Bub did that for me as a favour- He was fine-tuning the scales, etc on a custom he did for me earlier (see Tactical Knives- Nov. '99 issue- pg 48- the ad for Bub Worrell- the bottom knife is my design & belongs to me)& he offered to do it for me- great guy. I want to buy another Fang & a sheet of G-10 & have a go with some epoxy & a Dremel tool...

While in Paris earlier this year I gave Fred Perrin my Utility Fang as a gift.

A day or so later he had cord wrapped it making the grip at least a zillion times (being a bit conservative) better than it was.

Almost wanted to ask him for it back!

Fred works with G-10 a lot, I can only imagine what he could do to that baby using some of that.
