How is it as handle material? Is it in line with wood in terms of performance/contracting/expanding and so on?
 
Crosscut mammoth ivory. It tends to change volume based on humidity. My only experience has been on a slipjoint. I wouldn't want to beat on it too hard, but it sure looks great.

i wonder if Allen could pull that off on table saw??
 
I love the look of that mammoth tooth. I've only got one knife with mammoth scales, a beautiful fixed blade about hiking buddy sized. I've never used it, but it looks and feels awesome.
 
That one is a solid chunk of tusk/bark ivory that is crosscut! Mammoth is great for conservation as well. Tooth tends to be more patterned and stabilized. Both are super cool.
 
I missed one of my fantasy knives (Bog Oak WA Surls Huntsman) yesterday! I'll get my paws on one eventually though!

Yeah that bog oak is sweet. Aside from the look there is something very cool about holding something 5000 years old in your hand.
Its weird to say but I want to get my thorn model in bog oak once Allen is good to go with it. See how much that will cost but it will be worth it for sure.
So exciting.
