I saw once on a thread where someone was defending Gil Hibben as a serious knifesmith.

I'm sure there is alot of validity to that.

But I want to see pictures of all those fantasy blades that you see late at night on QVC.

You know the ones I'm talking about, the ones that got the D&D kids beat up back in the day but gave them something achievable to dream about to take away the pain of not being able to achieve success with the fairer sex.

Let's check these babies out.

dont know how it works, but it kinda looks cool so why not

I play D&D twice a month and hate pos "Fantasy knives" :p

And yes, there have been way too many of these threads lately. People seem to think they're tactical

Those things might be "tactical" in the sense that you might have a chance to get away when the guy you pull it on doubles over in laughter. :D

I gave a buddy of mine a Spyderco Endura SS, and he told me he had a good knife already, and produced one of those fantasy POS models. He said that the Endura was too sharp. Hell, if someone wants to buy one, okay. But I have told people that they will break on you if you try to do anything with them. I asked my little brother what knife he wanted at a gun show a couple years ago, his first choice was one of the fantasy junkers. He was also 13. I wasted my money on a junk claymore that was marked down to 35 bucks when I was about 19 at a show, and wasted money on a Bud K "ninja sword" around the same age, but thankfully I didn't get into the fantasy knives. If you can direct just one up and coming knife collector away from that junk, you did a great job.

However, some of my buddies told me about expensive knives they picked up a couple years ago. Buck 110's at Walmart for 30 bucks!:foot:

Completely agree. Had this conversation once with someone already on Gil Hibben. I argued that even his legitimate knives are OUTRAGEOUSLY, CRIMINALLY overpriced and not even all that attractive, in my opinion of course.

This is just silly! I would have liked it a lot more if it was symmetrical!

In what way is it not symmetrical?

How many of these threads do we need?

+1! SO glad someone said this.

30 bucks for a little pocket knife IS a lot for non knife people. But the Buck 110 certainly aint no slouch, and is worth every penny. Trust me, I even have a guy I work with who considers himself a knife nut, yet hasn't spent more than $15 or $20 on a knife. And I'm not talking inexpensive quality like Opinel/Mora. I'm talking anything from Big5 that's stamped "stainless China" on the tang.

Usually he'll come in bragging about the super sweet knife he got on sale that is worth like $35 but it was marked down to $12. then BAM out comes a S&W with a paper thin liner lock.

ok, i gotta say i wouldn't mind having that scorpion on my coffee table. heck, i woudln't mind coming back, in another life, as that scorpion.

theres nothing wrong with S&W knives...unless its one of there "MAGIC" assisted openers; they are just junk.
