I have been meaning to post this for awhile now, and just recently had the time to get the photos and everything together. I started making chef knives about 8 months ago, and was looking for a good selection of stabilized wood. I came across Faron Moore, a member here on BF, and his website Burlsandblades.com, and found what I was looking for. I have ordered several pieces of wood and dealt with Mike. He has been extremely helpful, was always quick to reply to my emails, often mailed stuff out the same day, and even put stuff in the mail to me before I paid him, when I was unable to remit payment due to being away from home.
I have found the wood he sent me to work great, and I and my customers have been beyond satisfied. He even sent me a sample of a piece of wood I was interested in, to try it out. By sample I mean a piece big enough to complete a knife, so I am very grateful. Here are some pictures of knives completed with wood from Burls and Blades. I have only made a handful of chef knives so far, and each one has been a learning experience, so forgive me if the knives themselves (and my photography) aren't on the same level as the wood.
Thank you, and I wish the best for Burls and Blades
