The area where I live has become the horse capital of the Mid Atlantic area which to a blacksmith and knifemaker means lots of these old rasps laying around and available for free. I like the heft and textures I get on these knives.
Forged from a farriers rasp
Heat treated with three normalizing and two tempering cycles to 59 Rockwell hardness and a fine grain
Flat grind with a mat finish
Stabilized walnut handle
Overall length: 13 1/2 inches
Blade: 8 1/2 inches
Leather scabbard with a belt loop
