Farrier's Rasp Knife ((SOLD))

I usually have one of these on my table when I work a show because so many people ask "do you ever make a knife from a file?" Files are always a challenge to heat treat because there no way to know which steel the manufacturer used. I treat them the same as I would 1095 using three normalizing cycles and two tempering cycles with good results.

Forged from a farrier's rasp hammering the teeth into the body to create an interesting pattern
Flat grind with a mat finish
Stabilized maple handle
Overall length: 9 3/4 inches
Blade: 5 1/2 inches
Leather scabbard with a belt loop

Gerry: I did not see your anvil mark and name on the blade. Did you add this after the photo session? Way to go black mamba! This is a great knife in more ways than one, so it is no surprise that it was gone in less than two hours!
