Farriers rasp on steel?

Has anyone ever tried filing steel on the bastard cut side of a farriers rasp? I found a one and I'm wondering if it will work fine on a peice of anealed O1.

I have used the finer side of a farriers rasp for soft metals for fittings. It should work well on fully annealed O-1 for hogging metal off quickly, but make sure to switch to a finer file before you get too close to your intended shape as it will leave deep cutting marks.

I gave it a shot and it worked very well. The removed metal looked more like shavings than filings.
