Fastest, longest lasting waterstone

Thanks for the imput. And your right I have very little issue with the 1000 grit side of my stone. I also have no issue with the 4000 grit either. The 8000 stone loads up something terrible. Has anybody tried the nubatama ume 60 grit stone? I am interested in trying it for fixing chips and other small damage.

Although one could the Nubatama 60 for some sharpening tasks its really more of a stone used for flattening and to texture other coarse stones. Used in turn with a 24 Grit Nubatama to flatten the 60 grit. Along with another 24 grit to keep both 24 grit stones flat. This is how I use them anyway.
