This is a palm skinner with a modified caping point, done in 15N20 and bocote. Very fat handle and super secure to hang onto.

OAL 6.5 inches, with a 3 5/8 cutting edge. Handle scales are a touch over 3 inches, but don't be fooled, you can hang onto this through anything.

Steel is .095 15N20, differentially tempered (the spine and tang are drawn down to be softer, making for a more durable knife) with a buffed forge finish and bluing to the worked portions of the tang and spine. Grind is convex, but very shallowly done for a fine edge. Stropping will take care of it fine, but I sometimes use a ceramic kitchen 'steel' when I'm out doing meat work as well.

Handle is bocote, and works out to 7/8 inch thick all across the widest part, very fat and secure handle. Pins are 3/16 brass.

Sheath is Koyote Girl made, fully doubee hand stitched on both seams, with a snap closing full flap. Inside of the snap is lined with a flap of leather to prevent undue handle wear. Double stitching means that each hole on each seam has 2 threads going through it, making it durable and able to hold together even if a few stitches get cut (it's also easy to repair, if it comes to that) - you can't do it with a machine, and all the stitches are done by hand.

Asking $110 including USPS priority shipping in the US. If you are a Basic member or above on BF, knock $10 off, if you aren't, pay spark $10 and get a membership, then knock $10 off- simple way to support the site. paypal and money order or check preferred. Checks wait a couple days to clear out, of course.

Thanks!

I'll float this one back to the top. It really is an excellent small knife. We've tested this pattern in the butcher shop and it works very well on the lamb and goats, as well as the general assortment of fowl and fish processing.

I think the photo was before I stropped. polishes up a bit that way. It's a pretty nice edge, I'm still recovring from a pretty deep cut from that one- just passing my hand along it wiping off the buffing residue and ... ouch.
