hey folks.. just wanted to share some pics from yesterdays, Fathers Day BBQ..
instead of staying home at our place that is almost just as wooded, we decided to go and have a little BBQ/picnic in Big Basin state park, which is about 20-25 minutes away from our house.. this place is huge and is one of the largest state parks in Ca.. both my wife and I know this place well.. i used to guide backpacking trips for teens here during the summers and my wife worked here for a few years, back in the day..

anyhow.. on to some pics... you got to love living in/around the redwoods.. we are truly lucky..

For all the newlywed father's out there, you score "brownie points" with your in-laws like this, by handling the cooking chores on Father's Day . . . . :)
M/M, I was out in Oregon & California a few years back on a lumber mill & buying tour, & I could not believe the size of some of the redwoods we went to see. Beautiful country and so peaceful in those parks.
Thanks for sharing & taking us along on your Father's Day excursion . . . .
Be safe.

Great pictures, Mike, thanks for sharing. I'm getting ready to go to bed, but damn, those food pictures are making me hungry.

Your mob always come across as a happy bunch, pukka.

From that pic it doesn't take a huge leap of imagination to envisage that should that creature turn round the head end would show a rare longdog / marsupial hybrid.

many thanks for all the kind words folks... it was indeed a great time... and a Happy Belated Fathers Day to all of you Dad's..:D

Great pics Mike, looks like a perfect Fathers Day! Props for your choice of attire, and also for your wife's shirt as well, love me some Flogging Molly :D

Looks like a great BBQ in a great spot. It's been a long time since I have been in Big Basin, I need to get back there.

Thanks for the pic's , what did you cook in the zebra can ?

Looks like beans.

How do you like the scandi on food detail? My Koster is okay but when it comes to onions and potatoes, it's not so good. Love the Farmer. That's prolly the best one he's done IMO.
