Yesterday was Father's Day, and we all headed over to my brother's house for a big barbeque and fire in the backyard.
The weather was perfect, the yard was looking good, and I had a Tim Horton's coffee in my hand; the day was off to a good start.

Then, a surprise occurred; as I have no kids, I don't generally get Father's Day presents (makes sense).
However, this time, my brother's housemate/tenant had a gift for me...my brother said he wasn't sure if I would like it...the guy headed to the basement to get it...the suspense built.

Then, THIS came up the stairs!

A genuine Rebel Edge Navaja, with 9.25 inches of pure Chinese mystery stainless steel, and an overall length of 20.5 inches!!! :D
It weighs 33.5 ounces! :D :D

The smile on my face was huge, and my soul filled with laughter; pure knife knut heaven. :)

So, we headed outside for the culinary feast, and it was rich in vitamin meat. I had a burger where the patty had cheese AND bacon in it; I garnished it with a pork chop and a steak (sorry, no pics...too busy eating).

Between meat overload and commencement of dessert, we found out that there is a nest of baby birds in a small tree in my brother's backyard:

Apparently there had been last year as well, and the parents must have liked it well enough to return.

Then we watched the most epic action movie EVER...Kung Fury

You should watch it too. :D

And of course, the internet gods demand cat photos...so here they are!

And then here's a picture of it alongside the Spyderco Tatanka and ZT 0630:

Big, Big, Big!

Sorry, I got distracted.

Is that a Companion cube I spy in the first photo?

Also, I loved this line :).

Congrats! Looks to be about the perfect size for EDC!

Just need to get suspenders. :D

I believe you are correct about the cube.

You want your mind blown?
I looked this knife up today on the net, and someone bought one off eBay for $150 US dollars!

Very cool knife. I love Navajas. It reminds of the knife Robert De niro used to kill an opponent in a duel, during the movie, "the Mission".

Nice! Congrats and enjoy! That's a lot of knife-y goodness. Fun knife.

The cool thing is I was looking at getting a Navaja in the near future...and then this giant thing shows up. :D
It's one hell of a conversation piece...I'm leaving it dull though, due to the lock and the intended purpose.

Great cinema with that knife. And makes the cs voyager clip point that I got for Father's Day seem like a pipsqueak.

"I was hit by lightning and bitten by a Cobra."

Nice knife for Father's Day by the way take care brother

That movie has more 80's in it than the entire decade managed to have. :D

I put an XL Voyager beside it, and it looks like a peanut by comparison. ;)

Nice story and very nice pics.

It was a great day, and my brother plans to get new doors for my dad's house.
The baby birds were pretty awesome too; I've never seen any that close before. At one point all three had their mouths open looking for food, but I wasn't quick enough on the camera to get a pic.

Great score on the knives, and your cat looks a lot like good ol Jake with their unconditional love cats provide, but I don't care much for Tim Hortons.

I have always enjoyed "racheting navajas," mostly because its fun to say.

"Ohh, I got a bad case of the racheting navajas."

Alas, the cat belongs to my brother...or perhaps he belongs to it. Hard to tell. :D
It is a very affectionate cat.

Does it run on bearings or whaaaa?

Looks to be no washers even...I believe it runs on loose tolerances. ;)

I'll have to yell that in public sometime.
