Father's Day gift from wife & daughter w/ KSF bonus

I enjoyed your words Stich. There are a lot of males out there but very few men. My best friend did the same thing quit his high profile, high paying job to raise his kids. Respect for what you've done for family, your good deeds will be rewarded. My boys gave me a buck 309 made my day. I enjoy this side of the line best, the traditional crew does solid work.
Respectfully, Chance.

Thanks for the kind words, most of the guys I worked with don't understand or get why I'm doing it, I figure if they don't understand or get I can not make them. It's the same reason I'm selling my place and moving to a town with better schools, I just want to give her ( and any future children we have ) the best chance possible.

Jeff hope you enjoy your new SAK ( hope I didn't ruin the surprise ) I carried a Vic Farmer until I lost it and replaced with a Vic Rucksack for about 25 years hiking, camping, traveling cross country by foot, backpacking & bumming around Europe great consistent & dependable knives. I remember the long days, have to take the work when it's there in the trades, the memory of hanging pipe ( duct ) in 120 degree attics by myself when busy still is fresh in my mind.

Your wife sure has great taste! How much help do you need to give her in the form of hints? My wife wouldn't know where to begin if I didn't just order it for myself!

How right you where  and I wouldnt miss the hot attics either ;)

Thanks Pete! I am really liking this one. Something about the Alox handles just seem right. This one's already special because they picked it out without me knowing and im looking forward to really using it. I am trying to take the older two camping in three weeks and they are fighting over who gets to cut a tree down first with it lol(not going to happen because of LNT but funny to me anyway).

Nice knife. Which color is that?

I totally understand about the alox handles. Try as I might I just can't get used to the run-of-the-mill plastic covers on most Vics. Feels too cheap and synthetic for my tastes. The alox is much better, though I wish they would offer the red variety more.

Right on the money with your comments Christian, no need to double post :)

This farmer is the copper version, I left it up one night on Swiss Bianco(forum sponsor) and my Wife took note. I am very glad she did as I have been on the fence for a very long time about getting one of these guys. I have seen some pics of the copper after being pocket worn and I really liked them. I will get some pics eventually but I was very surprised at how close in size it is all the way around with my GEC 66 jack. Came hair popping sharp out of the box, I have not a single complaint with this knife.

Christian my first Farmer had red alox scales, I got it in the 80's, I found it in a cutlery store on vacation with my folks, before the days of Internet, I carried that knife for many years, I lost it in a movie theater in the early 90's I was so bummed out, it took me until 2003 to replace it with a silver one. I still look for old red ones with brass liners like my original one, I hope whomever found it used it and enjoyed it as much as I did.
