As the title states - this is a FATHER'S DAY GIVE AWAY of a Kizer Sparrow with a laser engraved 154CM black blade, black micarta scales, and a green and purple lanyard by Gary W. Graley Gary W. Graley with a green and black carbon fiber bead from Etsy. Total Value of knife ($75) with lanyard ($40) and bead ($25) is about $140 not counting the tax and postage we paid, so it will ship insured for that amount.

MORE ABOUT THE KNIFE - It was ordered new from BladeHQ a week ago on May 21, shipped directly to Gary to see if he might like it, had the lanyard with CF bead installed, and then Gary shipped it to me unused with box and papers. The lanyard was installed skipping the lanyard hole to (1) keep the knife thin for deep pocket carry, and (2) to allow disassembly of the knife and scales for maintenance without having to cut the lanyard (CRK style). We both thought that this would make a good GAW knife, and wanted someone to enjoy it. I reserve the right to add a second knife for a second winner, should I be inclined.

WHO CAN ENTER - This is open to 18 years and older age members (paid and un-paid) who have JOINED the forum BEFORE JAN 1 2024, with shipping to the USA included (Continental USA, Alaska, and Hawaii). I do not want to deal with customs forms at this time, and I will not take it apart to ship to Canada. Members outside of USA must use a USA shipping address and phone number, and recipient must still be 18 years or older in age.

Non-Paid members who enter and win must then become a paid-member in order to PM me to claim their prize. But you do not have to become a paid-member unless you win. PM is the only way to be sure the person messaging me is the actual winner, and nobody has to post their email in a public forum where scammers can access it.

HOW TO ENTER - Just post "I'm IN" to enter. If you are entering to nominate someone else, make sure they are willing to agree to the rules below first. Otherwise you should claim the knife, and then send it to them yourself. No surprise winners - winner must know what is showing up in their mailbox!

THE RULES - It is a manual flipper style knife with cut out opening holes, and the specs state a 3.00" blade; so check your local laws to be sure it is legal. I and Gary are not responsible for any harm that may result in the use of this knife, so don't enter to win if you don't take full responsibility for what happens when you receive and use the knife. The knife is brand new, so it has not been tested for function. So, if the knife needs warranty work I will send you the proof of purchase with our addresses redacted, and you can contact the manufacturer after that.

THE CONTEST - I will stop taking new entries around 8:00 PM Mtn time Friday June 7th (9 days) and then I will use the Wheel of Names website to select a winner. I reserve the right to move the time forward or back in the event that something comes up. My plan is to ship by Saturday June 8th or Monday June 10th if the winner can get me their address, email, and phone number by that time, so that the knife hopefully arrives in time for Father's Day.

HOW TO CLAIM PRIZE - All communication from the winner must be done by PM on the forum
, which means if the winner is not a member then they will have to join at a member level high enough to PM me to claim their prize. This only seems fair to me, since the forum is acting as a means for you to win this $140 knife package.

Good Luck Everyone!!

UPDATE ON PRIZES

Gary and I agreed that we need to have a consolation prize for a second winner!

So that second knife will be a Civivi Savant with 14C28N blade and G10 scales, with lanyard by Gary Graley (G2). You can see all the pics by scrolling the IMGUR pic to the right. EDIT - the edge looks like Gary sharpened it to a mirror polish. I could be wrong.

Thanks Doc for hosting this giveaway,

I noticed in the last image of the knife, it appears that you removed the whipping knot near the handle. While this might give a little more flexibility for the lanyard, the new owner should take care that it doesn't slip into the handle as that was helping to keep the lanyard under control and preventing it from moving into/near the blade.

My mistake as Doc just borrowed a photo of mine before he decided what colour to use for the whipping cord.
So whoever wins this it will have the whipping knot in place

😇
