Father's Day Surprise

When I think of daughters and Busse, I remember the story Jerry told about the famous actor who kept an AK47 just for the express purpose of "impressing" ;) his daughter's boyfriend when he paid a visit to pick her up for their first date. He'd polish it as he told the boy to have his baby girl back by 10 ...hehehe....congrats brother!:thumbup::thumbup:

I have my Gladius to pull out and polish and plenty of guns to clean when they show up!

The story of my Father's Day Surprise

My wife sends me a message yesterday as if I have a minute for her to swing by my work. A bit of an odd request but I tell her yea it's pretty quiet.

I ask of everything is ok, to which she just responds yea and she will let me know when she arrives.

Curious, I wait and then head out to the Parking lot when she says she is about there.

She rolls up, rolls down her window, tells me Happy Father's Day and tosses a positive pregnancy test at me!

Now the worry: what if it's a girl? The knee jerk reaction: I need more guns and knives just in case it is!!! (And so I have plenty to pass out if SHTF or through my will!).

Happy Father's Day gents!
That's so cool of her. Did she take off without any more words after throwing the test at you?

I don't have any Busse Katanas to polish but a HUCK should do in a pinch. Also my 7 year old is making her own "knives" already and will get a black belt in one of her martial arts within the next few months. I could go on and on. Basically if you train and teach them well there isn't much to fear.
Girls are fun and not all teenage boys are pigs. Who am I kidding. Will tell her all about boys too when she's older :-)

Super happy for you and congrats!!!!

Congrats. GREAT NEWS!!! Your first child will change you. Plus, you can buy almost anything in PINK!

My wife did kind of the same thing. We knew she was preggo, but found out it was ...TWINS!! :D :D

She tricked me! We have a soon to be 2 year old boy. She sent me a picture of him playing by himself at daycare and then launched into:

You know with the military moving us every few years he will not be able to grow up with childhood friends and he needs someone! So we should have another so he's not alone! Sneaky sneaky! She knows I would do anything for my guy! But no more after that. We will have a full fireteam!

And yea they truly do change you. I turned down a dream job because it would have caused me to have to live in an area while my wife was transferred somewhere else. Couldn't leave him and my wife has 14 years to retire from the military. Would have regretted not seeing him grow up more than I would the job

Congrats!
I have 3 kids, 8,5,&3- best things in my life.
Raising girls is much different than the boys, it's something I'd wish on my friends as well as my enemies 👀

Did you mention to your wonderful Lady that she threw something at you that she had just pee'd on?
Oh, and happy Fathers Day, you'll get used to getting pee'd on.

Lol well she was nice enough to put the cap on it.

I've been pretty lucky so far, little guy has only got me a handful of times in almost 2 years

Congratulations! I just got home from the zoo with my soon to be 2 yr old son. We had an awesome day. Being a father is great!

Congrats bud!
Keep a few bucks ready to grab a sebenza with your child's birthday to hand down and a Rucki to sharpen as the first boyfriend walks in (if it is a girl). If it is a boy, you will have one of his 18th birthday gifts already, and the Sebenza can be handed down on a wedding day.

Good idea. I have Dalibor, Direware and Medfords for folders to pas down and, after O2W, a bunch of Busse's for em to fight over

Congrats man--I have three girls and a son... Teach them to respect themselves, be smart, and not be intimidated and ours little girls will be fine. I got mine started in martial arts early-- my oldest did a wrist lock and throw on a boy that grabbed her arm when she was in the first grade. A proud poppa moment for sure... I'm her dad and ma instructor! Congrats again.

That is awesome! That's how I want my kids to be. I don't want to raise victims and don't want to have a girl that is dependent on a guy to take up for her. But with two military parents, it should be an issue!

Nope--you'll be a great dad. Just don't second guess yourself when people start giving free advice about how to raise kids. If you think something ought to be "this way" (your way), go with it... take all the ideas in, and go with what you think is best. Congrats again brother.

Hey congrats to you!! Such an awesome thing...My wife is at 18 weeks tomorrow with our first..the overbearing feeling of protectiveness is hard to describe, especially if we end up having a girl...won't find out for about 22 more weeks though! Anyways happy belated Father's Day to all you dads and dads to be!
