Father's Day, with knives, a stick, and a boat!

You may remember this outing...or not...but who cares because steak is good.

Anyway, there was a lot of stick left from that steak stick, and I thought it could be put to good use, so I took it home.

It became this:

The perfect gift for Father's Day.

But giving gifts on the mainland is boring as all hell, so I split the cost with my brother, and we bought a boat. :thumbup:

Off to Peche Island, the happiest place on Earth.

Ah, it's the cops!!!

But they didn't want us, so on we go!

They left me there, and went back to get dad.
In the meantime, I watched our stuff and hung out.

My brother and I head down the trail

so I can be super mature in the ruins of Hiram Walker's old homestead.

My brother uses a short Ka-Bar to make his sausage skewer:

My dad uses his Rajah 2; good for when you want a big knife without taking up much space:

I used my ZT 0550, but everyone was too busy to take pics of me doing so.

It cut okay, but not as well as the 0551 I gave my brother. I had reprofiled the edge, thinning it out behind the edge (the 0551, that is); I will eventually tune the edge on this one sometime or other.

And yes, the ZT 0550 can be used to block the sun from your eyes if need be.

We did it on the Saturday rather than the Sunday because Sunday was supposed to be 34 or 35 degrees Celsius.
