Great pics! Too bad about your Koster though. That would be a great story if you eventually found it though, it's a good excuse to hit that trail as much as possible.

Awesome pics of a beautiful area. Thanks for sharing.
That Marchand/Wildertool puukko looks good. Too good.

Lovely pictures, thanks for sharing. That Marchand looks like a winner for sure. Sorry to hear about the lost Koster though. If it gives you any hope, I lost a boot knife while hunting when I was a kid. Couldn't find it to save my life. Well about seven years later I was hiking through, and guess what I found?

looks like an awesome place! sorry about losin your knife, gives me a sick feeling everytime

That's a place where I would like to spend a week getting better acquainted with the wilderness.

Too bad about your Koster. And that deep red fatwood looks like good stuff.

Thanks for sharing your trip, excellent photos, you certainly have a good eye and the scenery was awesome. Another place I need to get serious about visiting while I still can. Sorry for the Koster loss, hopefully luck will be with you if you go back for another look.

Those are some great photos! I've made several trips to the "Porcies" over the years. Its a very beautiful spot for backpacking.

.....Does a human sh*t in the woods? Yup (Section 17 cabin in the distance)

Wow

You guys really get taken care of :D

I take it you need to bring your own (TP paper that is) :D

Kind regards
Mick

Great pics. I live in southern Chicago and that wouldn't be too long of a drive for a day trip.

Nice pic's of the wildertool. I really love his knives, I've been on a traditional/rustic kick lately.

Awsome Pic's ! Thanks for sharing.
Sorry about the Koster.
Good reason to carry more than one blade.

I did not but they look comfy inside! I may go back up in a month and stay in one for a few days.
Here is the PDF link to them them.

I passed all the trail heads and saw maybe 10 vehicles total spread across 25 miles. A couple were college vans so I would guess there were about 30-40 people in the back-country camping. Those folks had the park to themselves. Good time of year to go.

I added some processed pitch-wood picture to my original string of posts.

Yurt camping in winter is the bomb. Thanks for sharing and the nice pics. Nice score on the fatwood
