Fav Traditional Forum Knife?

No contest (as of this moment) -- the 2015 double end jack. Right blade choices for me, right configuration, and stainless to boot. I foolishly passed on ordering one when they were first available, then, after I kept missing them on the exchange here, finally went out and paid an exorbitant secondary market price for one on the auction site.

It'll be fun to see if the 2018 Buck unseats it as my favorite.

It certainly IS hard to say, but based on sheer use it's the 14 Stag for me. This knife actually spent a week outside on a well head during one autumn. When I found it, rust had taken hold and the Stag had gone slightly obese due to days and nights of rain. A careful drying and no harm done, so it wins the endurance test! :D

Nevertheless, I'd like to mention the 15 Canal St cos it's all stainless and Barry sold me one with astounding whorls on the Bocote. 13 is great too due to Rat-Tails and unusual pattern, 16 I won in a fine GAW and it gave birth to the Churchill so to speak, which is a wonderful pattern  And the 11 deserves mention as GEC's first Teardrop and has an opener, great shield too

If anyone has the northwoods stockman, could you post dimensions and photo if possible. I tried to search for old thread but couldn't find it .

It was based on the Queen Cutlery Small Stockman No.26 Had the arrow shield and was carbon not D2 like its Queen cousin. 50 were made, that shows you what it was like back in 08..I had two but gave one away, no decent pics I'm afraid and my camera's gone non immortal. 3 3/8" closed.

Try this thread?

That's it , thanks Will . I need one even more , Carbon and 08 happens to be my daughter's birth year .

I actually like other years' knives better, for materials or pattern, but my favorite is this one.

I have all the forum knives, but I almost missed out on this one. That year, I had just had my bypass operation, and was laid up at home, and couldn't get out. I finally was cleared to drive, and was able to get my payment out in time.

perhaps I should have actually read the description of what the thread was about before I actually post:eek::eek::eek: But I still like my 340T...

Now these are classy looking. I've never had one of them but I did get my hands on a similar factory GEC knife through a pass around. I really liked it.

Oh yea! There's my boy! Those are super nice. Your bolster is nice looking in that pic. Didn't someone donate the stag on these?

This is my first year as a member of this fine forum, therefore my first chance at a forum knife. But, I can tell this year's knife is going to be the best ever!

I am glad to see the growing list of makers too. When looking at all the terrific knives (in the post above) that have been the forum knife before, I was wondering something. Have they all be at the $100 range?

My favorite so far is the Canal Street double end. Since it will be very similar, this year’s Buck might take over at the top!

Thanks for the tip. I'd love to own quite a few of those forum knives. That Dubble End Jack by Canal Street is a sweet little pocket knife.

That was the 2014 GEC 77 knife. John Lloyd donated the stag, if I remember right.

I only have two - the 2013 GEC 13 Congress Jack, and the 2014 GEC 77 Stag Jack. I have never actually used either of them, but of the two the 77 is much more my taste in size and style.

While I like all the Forum's annual knives the 2014 has been my favorite ever since I first saw one posted. It's size, single clip blade, long pull, lined bolster, and stag just happen to be the right combination in my book, to make the near perfect Jack.

The stag was donated by an anonymous individual that year.

John Lloyd donated the stag for the 2014 and the Eric's Jack.
