The picture says it all.:D Materials? Scrap wood and my 12" AK & it's karda. No nails, screws, or glue, just slotted and pegged in rustic fashion, used the spine of the little AK to hammer the wooden pegs.

Nice pics Sarge, thanks for sharing with us. Nice "road marker"! I hope things aren't too boring. I like your accomadations, must be a penthouse suite.:D

How soon before your back state side?

Do you roller skate in that tent! Personally, I hope things STAY BORING for you and the boys. :D

Do your time and get home safe.

Regards,

Yup,they got some big honkin' tents here guys (our tents are still packed and on our trucks), they were set up by an American contracting firm called Brown & Ruud. Those mosquito nets ain't decoration, sweat draws the flies and then a couple hours before dawn the mosquitoes have a "party". One night we had a bad storm that collapsed our tent. Fixing a tent that size in the middle of a howling storm ain't much fun, but we muddled through somehow.:D

I was once in a swarm mosquitos that was so thick I accidentally breathed one up my nose - went down my throat - I choked on it - came flying out my mouth - and still kept on buzzin'.

Crazy times...

Sarge, get pics. I want you to know that you are the main reason that I went ahead and picked up a 15" Sirupati. Nice little knife. You going to bring the sign home with you? Take care. We appreciate everything you and your people are doing.

Ben, I'm glad you like your 15" Siru. Did you get that loose butt plate squared away? The 15" Siru is a deceptively deadly knife, not as intimidating as it's bigger brothers, but so quick in the hand there's no guessing about what it's made to do.

Just not when you're stuck in traffic Bruise, or you'll need more than a Gatorade bottle.  ;)

Sarge, I haven't had a chance to fix the buttplate yet, but it doesn't look like it's going to take much...just a little time and some JB Weld. I don't have the courage to peen. What suprised me right off the bat (it could be that I'm used to heavier khuks) is that the the knife seemed to leap out of the scabbard when I tugged on the handle. This is the lightest khuk I've got and it moves very quickly. I can see where, when needed, it can be more than formidable.

This is where I step off the bus...

See what happens when Bruise is in charge?

Wow!! Do they sell those tents in the civilian market? Like with stripes?

Hopefully things will stay "boring" enough that you can show us more projects--or even come home.

The 15" Siru I have I think was by Sanu. It is one deadly piece of equipment. Light enough to move it like lightnin. Even an old man can move this one. Still ain't turning loose of the 12" AK.

Hope things stay just boring enough that you and all your guys can come home in one piece.:) :D

Pen, when you post the quotes like you did, it almost sounds sordid :D

Pappy, maybe I'll have to try the 12" AK next.

Ben

Very nice pics - from the field!
They sure don't make tents like that in my neck of the woods! Would almost need to clear-cut.:D
Can see ya weren't kidding about the 12" being a handy little camp knife.
(It's on "my list";))
Thanks for letting us SEE what you've been up to.
Hope, it's "in the works" to get you home soon.
