I'm curious what everyone thinks. What's your favorite 9+" blade to chop with? Why? Pics in action are MOST welcome. Rats and Dogs encouraged to participate also.

I don't have any blades bigger than 9" right now, so I'd have to call my answer the ZT BM-E:

It DID take a nice bite out of my thumb. As seen in the above pic. Cool thing about this blade is that it's sweet spot is pretty close to the exact same as a cgfbm in relation to the talon hole.... Cool!

Currently that would be the Battle Rat for medium sized jobs, and the NMFSH for heavy lifting...;-)

The CGFBM for heavy chopping, the NMFSH and NMSFNO for medium size jobs. After Chopping with the NMFBM and ASHBM my conclusion was the only large chopper I need was the CGFBM, not saying it is the best chopper, only it will do everything I need a large chopper to do. The Basic 11 if I needed something light-like backpacking, or hiking into the woods

The only 9"+ blade I have is my 1311, it is a great chopper. I have a battle saw on order, that will be my first big piece of infi

The 13-11 is a great chopper, but I keep a Basic 11 in my vehicle for emergencies and one on my BOB.

Nice ZTBME.

For me it is always one of my oldies

I'm ashamed that I don't have outdoors shots of this beaut..... It was used as a log splitter and 2x4 chopper....

Love it !!!

My only biggie is the SYCKO 1111, it is a beast....cannot wait for the Battle Saw though, I will do a head to head chop off then re-evaluate.

1311
B11 and FBM CG had too much vibration for me. My Garth thinned TTKZ may beat it, but the 1311 overall (cost, weight, and ability) gets my vote.
I got lucky and my 1311 has a hamon:eek:

MOAB. Definitely MOAB.

Honorable mention to my thinned 1311. It's .008 at the shoulders, and the three dots on the blade I marked at .030, .060, and .090.

By far my favorite...

She weigh the same as the original SHBMs even at .320" thick, love the recurve, hand shaped canvas micarta to my spec, killer convex edge.... To name a few. She's a little less blade heavy, but still bites plenty deep!! :D

Next would be my CF BWM.... She's really light, another one with a killer competition convex edge, balance is great so she handles well...

She's got a pretty nasty bite too!! :D

And just gotta give props to the B11... Another winner!
