Favorite animals

Dogs--especially my young female pitbull, but really any dogs.

I love cats. Here's a shot of my buddy Rocky. it's an old pic, he looks small. Now he's about 15 pounds.

For animals other than house pets, I think manatees pretty cool.

"The more people i meet the more i like my dog"

I think this goes for most animals.

A better question is what animals DONT you like. I hate flys and have had my differences with cats and horses but i dont necissarily hate them.

Is she a staffordshire or an american pit bull terrior?

Depends who asks me. :D

(if you know what I mean.)

In anycase, she has the most lovely nature you could ever want a dog to have.
Pitbulls rule.

Nice looking cat, Centaur!

Here are my personal pets except for my rat (who I have no digital pictures of):

My adult female Grammostola rosea tarantula, Dee Dee:

Man's best friend didn't get that title for nothing! In over 50 years, can only remember 1 dog that caused me grief and he was a neighbor's pet. Oh yeah, then way back when there was that pack of 7 wild dogs that I wasn't to fond of!

What is he Matt? Hard to tell from the pic, could be anything from a QH to an Arab.

Quarter Horse. He wasn't more than a month or two old in that picture, still had that foal shape to his head. He looks alot more like a quarter horse now.

There's the whole picture, I don't have any current ones on this computer.
Do you have horses?

Pit Bulls by far. Have owned 6 so far. Most well behaved and misunderstood dog there is. Hey Lone Wolf, since you asked about "staffs", can you tell me the history of these dogs? Little homework if you will. :)

Yes, you can see some of them HERE along with some of the other inhabitants.

Lone Wolf, the link with the most accurate info is the Bulldogbreeds.com link.

So very very true. :)
I wish more people would smarten up to that fact.
I've been involved in Pitbull rescue for awhile now and I'm always amazed(read-disgusted) by how they're portrayed in the media.

And did you notice how ANY dog, regardless of actual breed, that causes trouble is called a Pitbull, even if it's obviously not?
A few weeks ago a Mastiff killed it's owner, and you guessed it, for some reason the dickwad on TV called it an American Pitbull.

Falcons!

Years ago the zoo-folks in my city released falcons to help control the local pidgeon population and they've actually adapted quite well to their urban environment.

One afternoon I watched one of these falcons catch, tear apart and eat a pidgeon on a sidewalk not twenty feet from where a group of us were standing as traffic sped by on a six lane city street. Bird didn't seem to mind a bit and just ignored us! A beautiful and majestic creature, yet a chillingly efficient hunter.

I wont get into what I think of media portrayal of the dogs. :grumpy: (would take up too much space, and get moved to W&C :D ) To sum it up, I have a 6 year old and an 18 month old. Both girls, and I would trust my kids with people less than I trust them with the dog. He is a pillow, a plaything, a babysitter, a guardian and a friend to them. Child-killing dog my behind!

I ain't fond of ...

Oh, give me a home
where the cottontail roam,
and the deer stay away from my yard.

I don't mind a bunny,
but I don't find it funny
when Bambi destroys what I try to guard.

They travel in herds,
like the worst kind of birds
who eat all the seeds that I spread.

I know it sounds cruel,
not what I learned in school,
but I wish a lot more deer were dead.

I also ain't fond of ...

Tiny little insects
flying in my face,
nature's little rejects,
enemies of the human race.

I've got a little gadget,
it emits a silent buzz,
inflicting on mosquitoes
a kind of mental fuzz.

I smear myself with grease
containing insect-killing gunk,
and lots of more expensive stuff --
I think they're all the bunk.

The biting, stinging, poisoned things
get to me anyhow.
The whirring of their tiny wings
will make me break my vow:

"Thou shalt not kill!"
Oh, it's an insect --
you bet I will!

On the other hand ...

Once a upon a time,
there were three little wolves.
They huddled in the den
when the pack went hunting.

Along came the dreaded
big bad boar,
his tusks tearing up
the dirt where they hid.

The wolf cubs lay
without making a sound,
but the pig could smell them
underground.

As the hole grew close
to the frightened cubs,
the pack returned
silent, alert.

With teeth for knives
and claws for a fork,
the wolf pack gorged
on a dinner of pork.

Any,

as long as they are soft and cuddly.

and don't have any sharp teeth, strong jaws, sharp claws, fisty attitude, horny (dogs especially), wants to pee or crap; doesn't want to fly, run, crawl, swim, slither, teleport away from me.

oh did I mention that they must be naturaly blonde?

jk, I'm afraid of dogs, cats, and big ass birds (other than ones I am familiar with).

Nice  I like the looks of Coco quite a bit. Nice straight legs and has a big hip on her. If she fills out some and gets a little broader in the chest she might make a good reiner or cow horse. I show reining horses so I'm pretty partial to the compact and solid ones that can turn and stop hard. Thats why I mainly stick with quarter horses. I had a paint for awhile that had the most heart and the most willing attitude of anything I've ridden, but he was too big and clumsy to compete at the same level my other horses can.
