Favorite Benchmade

Benchmade 710 is my most favorite. Doug Ritter M390 full-size griptilian is the second. If you prefer smaller knives, Benchmade 556-1 is not a bad choice. 940 is a popular Benchmade but somehow does not click on me.

That's a tough one, as I love my several Griptilians, Strykers, AFCKs, and others, but if I could have just one it would have to be the 710. To me it's the iconic BMK--the first-ever AXIS lock, excellent size (I like bigger knives), slim in pocket, and great in hand.

I like the original, stock version above and have two, with my user modded with stand-offs. I like my 710-1401 as well with its bright hardware and M390 blade, but am waiting on some custom scales as I find the blue/black thing kinda meh.

Lotsa knife guys are down on re-curves, calling them hard to sharpen, but I find them not difficult with the right equipment. I reprofiled mine with my EdgePro to 15 DPS with a 20 DPS micro bevel using the narrow hones. D2 is tough stuff and I wouldn't want to try that with a SharpMaker, even with the diamond triangles.

940 series for me. 940-1 in particular. Super light for its size, great in the pocket, beautiful scales, very capable and drop dead sexy(IMO:))

I like s90v quite a bit but I would be happy with any of their current blade steels as long as it had the CF scales.

Gotta be the Barrage 581.

Also currently my only Benchmade, but she is a beauty. Rather stout too.

For a smaller daily carry it would be my mini-Crooked River. For something larger, either my micarta/M390 Grip from KW or my 551-1. For a BM auto, my fav is my mini-Presidio 2.

I like the griptilian, large and small, as well as the CLA auto. All are great EDC's!

I've tried many Benchmades. I currently own 3. The Ritter Mini Grip, a plain green 940, and 581 Barrage (de-assisted). I love all and would highly recommend any one of them without hesitation.
If I could only keep one it would be the 581 by a wide margin. With the caveat of it having to stay de-assisted. I really liked it as an assisted knife, but after I removed the assist mechanism it brought it to a whole new level of amazing. I have beat the hell out of that knife and it just keeps coming back for more.
