Favorite blade length?

Either 3" or 4" seems to be the two standard sizes that I EDC. I do prefer the longer blade on my Spyderco Military but at work it is a little too much for the general population.

4" or larger

If ya gotta reach out and touch someone, you really do need that reach!

4" to 4.30" for a folder is ideal to me. I did carry an endura at 3.75" for 17 years without problems and still would be carrying it if not for the Police 3 ( over 4 inches ).

No less than 3.50 " unless it's for travelling to an area with a limit, or is an exceptional knife. The Stretch 2 is right on the minimum but is so well balanced and high performing I'll give up the extra blade length.

2-1/2" will cover most tasks just fine when I'm just roaming around the city. Not much is needed to open envelopes, cut string, split sandwiches and the like. Plus, it seems to fit the pocket better.

I'm another one who likes folders to be 3.5" to 4.25" and fixed blades to be 4" to 5" long.

I carry a SAK with me as well for sheeple and work moments.

For folders between 2.5 and 4 inches and for fixed knives between 3.5 and 5.5 inches. I wonder sometimes why on earth do I keep buying huge blades (Busses, Fehrmans, Swamprats) that I NEVER use, or better: are USELESS for my daily cutting/slicing tasks and during my survival trips. I mean it is fun chopping down trees, but there are better and cheaper tools to wipe out entire forests. During all of my survial trips spanning well over a decade, I only had to rely on 3 knives: Fällkniven F1 (3.7"), Victorinox Huntsman (2.5") and Fällkniven S1 (5").

3-4 inches for a folder. Mainly I like a larger handle to fill my hand. I do fine with smaller blades, but bigger is nice for things like splitting fruit and food prep.

For fixed blades I seem to like around 3-4 inchs as well but a blade with a little more heft. I like big long blades but I never use em. Just too huge to actually use for me. Might be fun as a toy but really quite useless especially when they cost close to a grand--and a 10 dollar machete would work fine anyways :(
