For deer hunting and general woods/outdoors carry it’s the Buck 118 for me. For cleaning fish and during turkey season I like an older Buck 121, just the right amount of flex to breast a gobbler and not waste any breast meat. For ducks I like a Buck 102, however I haven’t hunted ducks in several years now.
Nothing beats photos of knives at work. Yours are always excellent!

Ok, I am suddenly flush with new fixed blades. As I said in the intro, I had a 663 Alpha Guide elite on order. It came in the mail on Saturday. I'm surprised it hasn't shown up in someone's user box. It will definitely be a useful fixed blade for me. With the kydex sheath, I can slip it in my pocket where it kind of disappears. It's pretty thin. I have been using a dangler sheath I have for an F1 that works pretty too. It won't take the place of my 104 but I see it will frequently go along when I am out in the woods. And maybe in the city too.

That said, I am ready for fixed blade Friday because I got another box from Idaho this afternoon. I finally have a 124! Just a plain old 124, but it's mine. Finally. My wife asked me what I wanted for Valentines and I showed her the Buck 124 webpage and she smiled and said "Well, order it then!" So I did. I've only had it in my hands a few minutes, but I am pretty excited. Anyone out there with a user 124? I can imagine in certain environments this would do the job and then some. I can't believe I waited so long to get one.

Finally, in the same order, I spend a little more and bought the Paklite Pro Kit. The 631 and 635 together. They look like a handy little knife set for a little bit of anywhere. Camping, hunting, the kitchen, wherever. The S35VN should keep an edge for a long time. I had been eyeing them for a few years and I saw they were being discontinued, so I pulled the trigger. Now that I have them in hand I'm glad I did. I also saw they weren't available anymore in the Pro set. So I am doubly glad I ordered them.

So now I have some more fixed blades to put to work. Not disappointed with any of them at the moment and I don't have any reason to think I will in the future. They're Bucks!
