Favorite budget titanium frame locks?

I've been eyeing Toor...
Question: The placement of the thumbstud on all the Toor knives seems too far forward to me. I've never handled one in person, how are they in reality?
Seems like you lose over 1/4" of the cutting surface.
I have a Merchant 2.0 in both Tanto and drop point, and no thumb stud issues with either. In fact, I've never given the thumb stud a second thought - just use it to open the knife - so it works perfectly for me.

All this talk of budget Ti frame locks got me looking, and just placed order for QSP Penguin 154CM SW with black SW scales. Should be sweet and sub 100. Handwringed between this and M390 version but really wanted a full stonewash blade and make this an user, and the M390 only came satin or 2 tone satin, plus could be a pain to touch up, plus i am a bit tired of the shiny.

Ooh, that looks like a really nice one. I like that.

This sure is affordable. AUS-8 is one thing. Notice that the hardness is listed as 55-57HRC. OF course, I think the Rat knives in AUS-8 are similar and they tend to out-cut expectations.

Don't get me wrong. If that is fine and you like the design, it is ridiculously affordable.

Otherwise, you can sometimes get lucky on auctions for TwoSun's titanium framelocks in D2 or 14C28N. CH has a few titanium models in D2 that can occasionally be found for around $50. For a fun (or funny) alternative, here is the MTech rebrand of one of those CH knives. It isn't perfect and it left the factory with permanent thread-locker, but it isn't bad for the money.

I like my Ruike Hussar in S35VN. I think it is my only flipper? I only wish it's on PB washers.

I guess this is my "budget" titanium frame lock. Bradley Alias 1. It cost $300, but since I was choosing between the Bradley and a $450 Sebenza, the Bradley was my "budget" choice. 😁

On a slightly related note, I find it interesting how times have changed here at Bladeforums. Specifically, I remember when the Sebenza was spoken of with great reverence and in divine terms. Threads about the Sebenza and it's absolute superiority over all other folding knives were common here in General, and woe to anyone who dared question their superiority, or if they were actually worth the money. I'm talking about some straight up fanaticism.

Back then, if you posted a thread like this it would get bombarded with posts like "Just buy a Sebenza. All others are crap", and "If you ever handled a Sebenza you'd understand".

How times have changed 🙂 .

Check out the ZT0452, it's a sweet giant bladed knife that carries very well.

Another vote here for the ZT 0450.

It’s a better Titanium frame lock than many others that cost hundreds more. I think it’s one of the absolute best designs ZT has ever produced. 👍🏻
