Wow, 42 posts and no mention of the great choil controversy! Was sure that someone would say that it has to be choilless, so that the blade doesn't get hung up on a rib or something.

Anything pointy, long, with a guard would be my choice.

Many of Busse and kin's choppers don't have a point that would be conducive to the task.

Whats your opinion on a choil? Do you think it matters in this situation? I personally dont think a choil would hurt
