Favorite Camp Knives

Jazub,
Everyone needs a badass fixed blade for exactly the reasons you gave. The pure joy👍

Leukus, puukus, Winklers, Trailmaster san mai, USMC's, Canadians, bolos, machetes.....B.O.B.

Waiting on reports on the new Gryphon M-10 FFG for camp use.....

I don't hike anymore so truck camping makes weight of gear a non-issue for me. I've gotten hooked over the years on Becker Knives and adore the BK15 and BK16 models for being attached to my belt. They are very useful blade shapes and sizes.

Food prep is performed with ease when you have a BK5 Magnum Camp around. It's a slicing/dicing blade that takes a very nice edge.

The BK4 Machax processes wood for tinder, kindling and fuel. The BK 9 is also fun to have around and handles wood very well in its own right.

It never hurts to have a BK2 around and they are fun to abuse. Two sayings are popular amongst Beckerheads, You can't not have a nine and the BK2 is great if you ever want to field dress a Buick.

Ontario RAT-1s are great value folders and handy in camp, as is the venerable Buck 110 which is just warming to the heart to have.

A SAK and a multi-tool should never be far away and a Becker BK-11, worn around the neck with a ranger band and push-button small flashlight pointing down attached to the sheath is very handy. The unique handle shape of the BK 11, so I have been told, can be used to open beer bottles.:cool:

Fällkniven A1 and/or Bark River Bushcrafter. And I'll bring my More Classic #2 for it's agressive cutting abilities.

Hoping to get a Cold Steel SRK at their parking lot sale in a couple weeks. Prefer fixed blades when camping/hiking but always have a folder on too.

The Buck 110 is just that good ole knife to have by your side when at camp :)

My favorite camp knife! Why no makers mark you ask.... That's cause I made it. My first but hopefully not my last knife to make. Made from a Nicholson file.

bush-haus,
Nice first blade brother! I can understand why it is your favorite.👍👍

Thanks very much! It was a pleasure to make and I love carrying it! I do have to admit most of my camp chores gets done with a Becker BK9 but this the above knife sees plenty action!

You have quite the excellent setup yourself GB940Rookie!

I enjoy getting out for day hikes, but don't often take time to brew up. However, i always have two knives and a folding saw with me.

Of the knives, my larger one is a custom by Bryan Breeden:

and the second is an EnZo Trapper i handled myself:

When i do actually stop and take time to brew, i usually have my small Kelly Kettle with me and it's an absolute joy to use.

Nice looking Enzo Trapper. I rarely see pictures of them or even referenced on this forum to my surprise!

I just bought an enzo trapper! Looking forward to taking it out once classes end this month.

Almost never need more than a Vic Farmer.

When I do, I now use a Grohmann #3. And for me, this is a BIG knife.
