Favorite carry traditional knives

I carry the Svord peasant mini. I have the plastic version, which may not be your cup of tea. You can also get wooden handles. The knife is very utilitarian, which appeals strongly to me. It also can be operated one handed, which is a rare feature in a traditional. I really like the L6 tool steel blade. It is easy to sharpen and takes a razor edge.

It does indeed take a razor edge! I have a Peasant with no scales, just metal. I like it, and a good friend of mine (9blades) gave it to me. Maybe I should carry it more. :)

I carry just about any knife I feel like on any given day, and I have many to choose from. But these are my most often carried. Included are three GECs, 2 Queens and a Moore Maker. I would really recommend the Moore Maker 3⅞" stockman with 1095 blades (top left corner in stag). It is a #6301, and the same model in bone is a #5301. These come up regularly on the auctions, and go for between 50 and 75 bucks. The ones from the late '90s through the early 2000s are very high quality, with beautiful W&T and good steel.

What model is the GEC top right in speckled blue and what are the scales called? I love it!!!!

I'm addicted to Schrade. This whittler is now my favorite and the easiest knife to sharpen that I've ever known.

I love Schrade's 1095. It's so easy to sharpen to a razor edge, and it takes so little time compared to 1095 on GEC or Schatt & Morgan knives which seem to take longer IME.

I have a carbon steel Boker Barlow that see's a lot of pocket time. Case's Sodbuster jr. Is a good one as well as their Slimline Trappers. I prefer the CV blades. If you like your pocket knives around 3 1/2" closed, I do, then Case's 3318 and Texas Jack are nice to carry, two of my favorites.
Two more that I will mention that I am fond of are my GEC 56 Dogleg Jack and my old Camillus built Buck 303.

I have been carrying a Kershaw mini random task for over 18 years now 1st as my work knife as a mechanic and ever since as my EDC. It does what I need a knife to do for me. The last time I carried a traditional was prior to joining up for that little "police Action" in southeast Asia and the dang TI made everyone of us turn in our knives, never saw it again and it was a John Primble stockman.

Traditional knives only, please. The title has been edited to reflect that.

These seem to meet my recipe of weight vs length vs bulk. The Vic bantam, GEC 15, Case peanut, and the Sardinian resolza made by Mr. Osai and son, all are very light weight and you can forget they are in your pocket. I really like unobtrusive carry.

Carl.

If you like barlows I think everyone should have at least tried a boker barlow. Older models are mostly found with plastic handles but some of the newer minted ones come with beautifully jigged bone of various colors.

The case small and large texas jack are woth the money as well.

If you like the 33ot you should keep your eyes open for a schrade walden 233...nice jigged bone handles instead of the delrin.

I'm getting a single spear #15 Boy's Knife wearing ebony covers in a trade! It's been a small grail of mine for a while. After that, I'm gonna get a 2011 Traditional Forum knife and be done for a while :)

It hit me that I misspoke earlier CS uses 14-4MOV, which is Latrobe's version of 154CM, not 440C I can't edit my post for some reason, and don't want to misinform anyone. I think you'll enjoy the #15, Boy's knife, just too simplistic to disappoint, especially with one blade. GEC Ebony looks quite nice. I hope to acquire a #15 sometime.

They use/used both.

Among my dozen or so EDC knives, I really enjoy carrying the older version of the Case 6207, pen secondary in lieu of the current long spey (this one is similar to Charlies new SFO Diamond Jack). OH

My daily carry needs to make feather sticks well and then pass the Nutella jar test.

Canoes are one of my favorite traditional patterns. They're slim, carry well, and two blades are almost always enough.
