Favorite Cold Steel Fixed Blade

Carbon V Master Hunter, bought as a factory second. It's been through a lot on two continents.

RSK by far, wish I had one of the older models in Carbon V, but alas I settled for AUS8, which has been great in its own right. Secondly I'd pick the Finn Bear, followed by the heavy bowie machete.

The Master Hunter would have to be my favorite mostly due to it's simple and effective blade profile also I'm quite fond of VG-10 ( you would be suprised at it's toughness) as fixed blade blade steel.

Right now my favourite CS fixed blade is my latest purchase, the SK5 Natchez Bowie. I like it because it's huge ,aesthetically pleasing and completely bad-ass.[it's what the survivors on the Walking Dead should be packing] I also like the Securex sheath, which means I can carry it reversed with a harness. I actually prefer it to the original san mai version, and it cost 60% less.

I had a Trailmaster in SanmaiIII that I carried for about 8 years or so. Good balance, I liked the grind, weight for the size and steel.

If it had a handle material better than the Krayton, It would have stayed. It ended up going to a new home (was not going to get carried or used much anymore, as it got bumped by a FBMLE Busse).

I actually bought it new for $150!!!!!! That's right a sanmai, new from Sportsmans Warehouse! I used it for 8 years and sold it for what I bought it for, and considered it a good deal for the guy that bought it.

I have to say, that right now, my favorite CS knife is my Pocket Bushman. For 30 bucks I think it would be harder to find a tougher folder. Great design, Flat when you carry it (even though it is quite a big folder length wise).

I am also very partial to the new Recon 1 with the Triad Lock in a clip blade. Super light, great ergo's and strong.

My favorite CS knife is the Trailmaster (it's also the only CS knife I own atm). I have the Taiwan SK-5 version and have done only little minor chores with it but it seems like a very solid blade. I'm eyeing either a Recon Scout or Natchez bowie or possibly even an SRK as my next CS knife. I also hope to get an IX or XII Magnum Tanto someday too.

I only have one CS fixed blade for now, really liking that San Mai III TrailMaster!
Picked up this Recon Tanto a while ago. I was looking for a larger sized yet light weight knife (with a plastic sheath that didnt retain water) that I could strap to a hike pack, i found this at a local gun store, it was about $60, looked great and felt nice in the hand (although i wouldnt mind if the handle was just a tad bit longer) so figured i'd give it a try.
I find it to be a great all around camp knife, not a great chopper but it does baton pretty well.

I am in between two favorites, the Recon Scout and the SRK. (Both in SK-5)

The Recon Scout has the edge for heavier jobs but the SRK takes the cake when it comes to its more manageable carry size and weight. Both do just about any job imagineable and both hold a great edge.

Guess that would be my only CS fixed... Mini Tanto (no longer produced). Bought it new at Jim's in "Fayettenam" for $74 around '92 or '93, complete with leather sheath and boot/belt clip. Old school but cool.

My favorites are the Bushman and the SRK. Or my 1908 Indian Cavalry Saber. :p

My favorites, and only now that I think about it.

Tai Pan,
Master Tanto 6" Blade
Culloden
And the Safe Keeper III

Master Tanto VG1 SMIII... And the amazing super edge !!

On my wishes list:
Trial master VG1 SMIII
Gurka Kukri VG1 SMIII

I have to say my Recon Scout in Carbon V is 2nd only to my SRK in Carbon V. Both are great knives but the SRK gets used more.

When I head into the woods it is always with my factory second Carbon V Trail Master. Good size and weight with a keen edge and grippy handle. It also happens to be a handsome design.

i have only one cold steel blade next to my bed......OSS® sub-hilt fighter....great grip
