Favorite Damascus ?

There is an up and coming young man from Arkansas. Tim Foster. He does some of the best mosaic damascus I have seen and has been making damascus less than one year. This guy is going to be one to look out for. Anybody needing to know how to get aholt of him let me know. Think I will get a knife from him soon myself.

Wow, this is a hard one.... but i would definitely have to say ROB HUDSON makes the nicest looking damascus on the planet.

He had a Persian Short Sword at the Guild show that you could look at for weeks and still find new things. His flame edge are among my favorite, especially when he uses some neat mosaic patterns for the center.

A VERY CLOSE second is Fisk's "WOLFSTOOTH" Pattern.

Another up and comer that has been tinkering with some neat mosaic patterns is John Fitch. As a matter of fact, i think he and Tim just did some patterns together.

Just my opinion, but i think the most beautiful, complicated and weird stuff comes from Pierre Reverdy from France. Some designs i have seen:
- clown masks (happy clown/unhappy clown)
- reindeer in snowstorm in Marttiini anniversary knife
- unicorn and winged stag in "Ouroboros"
- real english arabesque in hunting knives for Holland & Holland
- endless "Liberté"-writing in dagger for 200-year french revolution dagger
He makes a very good random pattern damascus, too. Reverdy does very few concept blades and a lot more very good simple using knives, both forged and edm-integral-cutouts.
He is a quiet young man in his mid-30's, so we still have to expect some more from him.
