Favorite edc colors

So is the concensus that black is more intimidating? The only downside I see for bright colors is if the tip is sticking out of your pocket, it will be much more noticeable than black.

The exception is camo. Stupid idea. And they want you to pay extra for it? What utter nonsense. If I am outdoors, I want a brightly colored handle, because if I put the silly thing down I want to be able to find it again. And if I am not outside, why would I want camo?

+1. Furthermore, if you are not in the woods, camo looks silly. It just makes sense nowhere.

I have knives in so many colors.
Blue, Green, Orange, Grey Ti, Black, Stainless, Etc.
Right now I'm carrying the "normal" colors. And all of my EDC's have a pretty lanyard on them.
I'm carrying:
Large Sebenza
Boker S2
Boker Subcom Titan

A pink knife is very hard to threaten people with.

:D

I like bright orange handles, a brighter blue, or a coyote brown. I also like wood inlays/scales, so "brown," again. On traditional knives, I like yellow, red, or a wood-like color.

Overall favorite is bright orange.

I seldom think about colors of an edc knife. Whatever color the knife happens to be is fine by me.

I totally agree with Frank on the camo handles. Simply silliness.

Cold Steel is really missing the boat by not offering their Spartan with a hot pink handle. That would be just so... fun!

I'm actually in the market for a pink EDC folder. All I can find that suits my needs(rather, Los Angeles's knife legislation) is Benchmade's Pink Mini-Grip. Hoping to see more pink knives in the future. I mean, they already make AK-47s in pink with Hello Kitty decals so it's not that far fetched a thing.

Why all the camo hate? A bunch of earth tone colors mixed in a random pattern, I like it.Looks good on my PM2. May be a little mall ninja to some but I dont see it that way.

I agree - I love my PM2 in digi-camo. It isn't that it has to be camo, it is simply that it looks good and is anything other than black. I'm tired of black G10, really tired of it...

...so I like the alternatives! ;)

I like royal blue. Often people will assume that it is one of those folding box cutters when clipped in my pocket (why this seems more acceptable at work is beyond me, but it is). I also just happen to like blue. I used to love the earth toned or black stuff, but it seems that every 300lb ex-navy seal that can't talk about their past because it's classified has some sort of camo knife clipped to their airsoft vest. (not saying that this describes all people with camo knives, to each their own. Just not my thing)

I suppose my favorite colors for knives are blue, maybe green or red. I really like all colors though, especially the "military" type colors like Desert Tan, OD etc.
And yes, I love camo:)

I like black, od green and camo....I stay away from blue and red knives because its gang related colors.

I would have never associated a knife color with gang colors. Kind of feel for you if that is something you have to consider where you live.

Red Is by far my favorite color so I have a number of knives with red scales. I also like a vibrant blue. I've been avoiding black for a number of years now- too dull and overused. Although to be honest a reddish wood with figure and chattoyance is tops with me, or a cream/white musk ox, or nicely colored mammoth.....

There are too many nice options for me to go back to just black. I think I have a single 5x3" piece of black micarta in my handle material selection, everything else is colored (even my blackwood has color variations).

But to each their own- at least it is a knife!

It's really interesting to see what people like, and don't like! I too am getting tired of black g10. Almost any color works for me. O.d or ranger green, dark blue, and burnt orange are among the top.

Rednecks such as myself happen to love camo on everything :D
But I've also been buying knives in different colors just to mess with people. Most of my freinds and family aren't used to seeing nice knives with blue or green or orange handles.

Variety is the spice of life. If I like the knife then the color doesn't matter.

I like black for every day, I just got a Para 2 in M390 and the blue doesn't really work for me. I bought a black PM 2 with a black coated blade thats on the way now. I am going to swap the handles and put my M390 blade in the black handle. I also think the blue handle will look really cool with the black blade in it. I also have a brown PM2 and love it, I will probably rotate between black and brown. I may resell the blue PM2 with the S30V blade with black coating but I might like it to much to part with it, will have to see after I make the change. Black Paramillitary II with M390 blade will be the knife I carry almost every day.

I've never been a fan of bright colors for much of anything, especially not knives. I usually go with common colors like black or dark green because they are easier to find on a wide number of blades, they look a ton better IMHO, and don't draw as much attention to themselves. If no one notices my knife I don't have to have the "why I carry a knife" conversation for the 100th time!
