I really enjoy opinels. Can get them scary sharp and their thin blades slice like scalpels! Got a No.6, planning on getting me a No.8 soon! Maybe tomorrow

Best knife I've bought for cheap was an Okapi model 1979. 85mm carbon steel blade, slipjoint (strong one at that), resin impregnated wood, crude construction, at 35 South African rand, which is equal to about $4 in the US. I can't even buy a decent meal at KFC for that amount! Been carrying it for about 4 months now nearly everyday. Can get a super sharp edge on it with little effort. Once cut up a paint can with it to get the last bit of paint and it really did it very well. It's forming a lovely patina now. Wonderful EDC. Light and slim. Maybe not very pretty, but very functional. I have better knives, but this okapi keeps finding its way in my pocket everyday. However, there are much better knives out there than my humble Okapi for a little bit more money

Douk-Douk knives are pretty cool little EDC knives. Just degrease them really well before you carry them.

Love the Douk-douk. My second pick would be an Opinel.

I think you're looking in the right direction, the MY803 is a little too close to the Hinderer design for my tastes, but I like my Bee L01MCT pictured in a previous post here. Pretty solid knife, nice size, nice looking and it came quite sharp. There are a few nice looking Kershaws around $20, too, but I don't have any personal experience with them to share.

If you dont want to wait for shipping walmart has a kershaw crown for 15.00 and its a pretty decent blade plus gets sorta sharp

I'd recommend the Ka-Bar Dozier folders as well. Come in a small variety of colors, blade shapes. Hard to beat for the price.

The CRKT M16 should be available for $20, at least the zytel versions. It's a good knife, but it ain't worth the $35 it sells for.
