Don't let anyone at Randall hear you call it a "factory." Yes, the knives are made there - individually, one at a time, and by hand. YEA I know, Gary would probably have them hunt me down with mercaneries! lol

That's a Triathlete, and it's so "non-catalog" that it's not even in the "non-catalog" catalog. I thought so, I have their Catalog and non-catalog / Catalog and haven't seen that model. Thank you for posting it.[/QUOTE]

samael please tell us about the randall. must have been very limited run.
thanks man

Naw, it's current production (and has been for some time). $225 (I think) and a five-year wait will get you one too. But because it's not in the catalog or on their website, very few people know it exists, so they're pretty rare.

I mostly collect and carry folders, but in the past 6 months I have picked up 3 fixed blades. All three are from the OKC Ranger RD series. These include the RD-4, RD-7, and RD-9. I do have a couple more fixed blades on my short list; ZT0100, and ZT0121.

My most often carried FB is a semi-production HAK, a tiger striped S30V by Joe Brum. Other than that, I'd say my favorite production FB is my RAT3 D2. I really like the RC3, but prefer the shorter OAL of the RAT3.

samael thanks had left a message for brother, he called & said exact same info.
said was a stiletto pattern also
he has the 2 in his safe.appreciate your response. he told me he has many i've never seen.i'm not big on randalls but he has made many thousands of dollars trading & selling these knives.said randalls had out performed any other investment he has made.

Dennis, unless you're a real "junkie," there are probably all kinds of Randalls out there you've never seen. Like this one:

I really like my Spyderco Mule in M4. It is 62.5 RC and takes an edge just like my Krein Ultimate Caper in M4, most likely because they both have top notch heat treats to similar hardness. Of course I had to pay for Tom Krein to put a nice Canvas Micarta Handle and Kydex sheath on it. It gets wickedly sharp (tied with the Ultimate Caper for the sharpest I can get a knife) and holds an edge better than CPM D2 and S30V by a good margin, but can't quite hang with ZDP 189 in edge retention. It is a fairly tough for it's edge retention and has reasonable stain resistance. It has a great utility blade shape that skins game nicely while also breaking down boxes like a champ and doing most anything you can do in an EDC role. It is a very good sub 4" knife with excellent steel.

I haven't had them long but I love my Izula and RAT RC-4. Both can be carried daily but the Izula is a little more convenient.

Bark River Mini Canadian. Can't even feel it on the bely and can carry it easily in a pocket sheath.

Tou have to hold these two honeys to fully appreciate them. Much more than meets the eye.
