Favorite Fiddleback of 2015?

I would have to say my favorites are my bog oak collection. Especially the Lady Finger that flew to Australia to visit my friend Abe.:D The eighth, TT, OD bolstered Bushfinger is exquisite, and last but not least the Toboggan makes a great EDC.

Gus the darkness of the Bog Oak and the greens look really good together.

The swedged A2 esquireat the bottom pretty much hasn't left my pocket since I got it.

The Esquire really has my attention lately. I have a friend who has a tapered 3/16 one, and that caught my attention :)

My favorite knife of 2015 is one I don't have. But I'd be happy with its sibling :)

The BC Jr is definitely one of my favorite Fiddleback models of all. It would be my favorite if Andy hadn't come up with the Handyman, and I will eventually get a tapered BC Jr. :D

My favorite is Triple T's Runt!! Wow a stunner...

LOL. Whats the favorite one you have?

I'd love to see some of the bishops from blade 2015 make an appearance.

Me too. Waiting on that.

My favorite by far has been the Stubbymuk.
This display is too tall for now, but I'll chop the uprights and make the Stubbymuks fit.

The SMs are cool, but I prefer pointier blades. It looks like you have the exact version of the Karda I want to land if that one is stainless :) I have wanted one of those in a thin stainless for a neck knife for years but keep missing them...

The mid-techs, and the mid-tech Hiking Buddy in particular are another favorite from this past year. I have sort of a 21st century Nessmuk thing going on with it at times :)

How could I leave out this little guy. BC Jr. in A2. Best of the smaller knives!

Nice picture. Looks like the sun was strong and overhead, but it came out cooler and softer than I'd think it would. Must be the high latitudes.

No favorites or “best of” 2015 thread would be complete without acknowledging Ken’s famous Osage & black micarta “Sunburst” Bushcrafter. When I look back on 2015, this will always be the knife I think of. I was lucky enough to score this knife at the Blade Show for a good friend (M4Super90) in Arizona. I doubt that we will see a Fiddleback handle like this again.

I miss you Ken!!!

I terms of my favorite Fiddleback I acquired for myself, It is an easy call. The Woodsman I scored on the 12/04/15 batch is absolutely amazing. I was so impressed by this particular knife that I sent Andy a personal message to let him know how I felt.

Here is an excerpt of that messsage:

“Dear Andy,

...

In the last 2-1/2 years, I have purchased approximately seventy-five of your knives. I have handled many others too. Last Friday I received the Woodsman pictured below from the 12/04/15 batch. This knife is absolutely the best knife I have ever received from you. It has perfect grinds, nice deep spalting, wonderfully supple handle finishing, and the PERFECT first finger neutral balance that I value so highly. This knife represents your best work to date to me and I feel very blessed to have it in my collection.

...

Phil”

It just so happens that this Woodsman is a close handle match for one of my other favorite knives - the Arete. This makes for a very versatile matched pair.

Happy New Year to everyone!

Phil

Happy New Year to everyone!

There are a few of Ken's really cool handles I was hoping to see pop up in this thread, and that sunburst is one of them. I think most of us miss having Ken around for a lot of reasons, not the least of which are his wit and sense of humor! The Woodsman still holds the place as my favorite Fiddleback model of all. One day I will land the synthetic handled version of it I want, and hopefully a stainless one :D

Here is an amazing example of the workmanship Andy Roy and the crew at Fiddleback Forge Knives are building into their blades. Dawgfan parted with this Bushfinger on New Year's Eve and of all the knives I purchased in 2015 this one is special. I built a Kydex sheath for quick access when I'm around town and it really shows off that Black Ash Burl. When I want to dress it up bonafide's leather matches perfectly. May everyone have a prosperous New Year so that we can buy more knives!

2015 Blade Show Ironwood Camp Nessmuk with long handle and Rick Lowe sheath. Scale patterns are essentially the same on both side. (The Runt belongs to someone else now.)

Yeah see, that's what I'm saying. I know there were a couple of awesome sets made last year.

That is a beautiful set. I don't remember seeing it this year. I have got to make it online more.
