As the title says, what are your favorite fixed blades in this category.

Right now DLT Trading has some Bark River ELKs on sale for that price or a tad higher.

Otherwise, you can get a Scandanavian-style knife from Helle, Karesuando, Marttinni, etc. Buck has some nice knives in that range, the Special/Woodsman/Pathfinder and the Vangard. I also like the Canadian-made Grohmann knives - #1, #2, and #3 should be under $75.

Tons of choices. Good luck,
-Bob

buck woodsman or special are both below $75.00 as well as some greco knives. I have a greco mst that cost 50.00 and it is outstanding!!

6" OAL or 6" blade?

If its 6" OAL that is a hard one for me to answer.

Probably my BRKT Woodland.

Spydie Fred Perrin Street Bowie - I think the black-bladed ones are around $80. This knife is SOOOOO great!

It comes in right at your limit IIRC.
Also available with a wood (birch?) handle, same blade, for a bit less.

That's what it looked like to me. Oh well, I'm just kind of seeing what's out there right now, not purchasing one anytime in the next few weeks.

Thanks for all the photos etc, reduces my google search time :P

Will check out all these recommendations :)

Ontario TAK-1.

Looks very nice, seems like it'd be sturdy....very sturdy.

Would 1 of those really be better than having two of these though?

Seems it's twice as expensive as the Ontario I currently have so that just popped into my mind.
