Favorite fixed blade

The Aurora is a great knife and you will like it . The sheath is well made with a nice leather . The problem that I have with the sheath is that there is no retention and the knife will come of when upside down . I haven't dropped the Aurora but have other BR with similar sheath and belive me when you see the mark on the handle you will be upset . I like kydex sheath but don't like them to wide . If they can come out with a slim plastic sheath like the One Falkniven uses I will go with that . I don't open carry fix blade so I can't say much about how it carries on the side . They always stay in my bag .

You might want to consider either wet-fitting the sheath for a tigher fit, or putting a little bit of adhesive moleskin inside the sheath to snug it up a bit. The vast majority of Barkies that I own have come with sheaths that have a very tight fit out of the box, and take a little time to loosen up, which is what you ideally want. But the "Bushcrafter" sheaths (which is what I'm guessing your Aurora came with) don't always seem to offer the most snug fit. I usually replace them, and if anyone wants one, I have aa box full of unused ones.

If I can only pick one, then this is the one for me.

This is my weekend yard helper, a knife by E Miller given to me by Vince.

Gifts do make the best knives --- a gift just makes a good knife even better, and that looks to be a nice knife anyway. It's the way I feel about my favorite fixed blade, the Tikka. A good solid handy knife, all the better because it was a gift.

My Burt Foster Personal, probably will be a favorite. About 7" overall, 3" blade.

Im craving an Ahti Leuku 90 (the small one) somethin fierce. Spellbinding lil tool. Can't wait to give it priority and make it happen.

So far I'd have to say this Bark River. I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but it sure feels good in hand.

I've never really used fixed blades except butchering meat or filleting fish,

I bought this Puma Bowie at age 12 for the princely sum of $16 (around 1970). Never used it on deer as intended.

Believe it or not, people didn't seem know a whole lot about whitetail hunting in the 60s, probably because populations in TX had just rebounded. As a result, many thought dressing/skinning a deer required something on the order of Tarzan's lion-sticker.

Original Pumas bring good money these days. I shudder to think of how many I owned over the years and sold.

Whoa, Mink, that Steingass is drool-worthy, as is that nice Ruger wheel gun.
