Just wondering which folder you've used has the best designed handle for you. My prefered grip is a saber grip and for me the Spyderco L'il Temperance fits me almost perfectly. I guess the BM AFCK comes in second. What's your pick?

No question there...my MOD CQD...it can be used as an impact weapon and it is PERFECT in every grip including saber, hammer, reverse grip blade in, reverse-grip blade out, and Filipino. Ordinarily, you would need to "cap" a knife in reverse-grip...this isn't very comfortable on the CQD because of the pointy butt BUT it doesn't matter because the Dieter side-hilts are so MASSIVE that your hand will not slide down...I just LOVE this knife :)

PS I am not gripping the knife perfectly in the pics because I was using my left hand to take the photos (had to stretch a bit :) )

Nice post! That's a knife I've flirted with for awhile, I just don't like the tip down clip or the amount of knife that sticks out of your pocket. Carried in a belt pouch I think it would be great!

Emerson Commander. It seems like they had a mold of my hand when they made it. Another really comfortable one is the Rekat Carnivore.

Thanks. I had the same hesitations at first...but it turns out that the "chunky protrusion" makes it extremely easy to grasp the knife and to draw it quickly. The balance (handle HEAVY) of the knife allows you to draw it so that the thumb-stud falls perfectly in place...using Michael Janich's technique (don't know how to describe it here) you can even draw the knife into reverse grip...this is normally difficult with a tip-down design but, again, the handle-heavy nature of the CQD enables you to do it..did I mention that I love this knife :D

For me its my large Classic Sebenza. Been carrying a Sebenza for a little over a year now and a Classic for about 6 months. If you've read any of my post over the past couple of years you would see a pattern of a favorite knife about weekly:eek: So for me to have carried one type of knife for this long.............well something about it must be right on the money! I've had no problems with the grip on this knife. I currently have two, one with wood inlays and the other with leather inlays. Although the wood does not stick out from the handles very far it is enough to give a different grip from one with the flat sides. The leather inlaid model does not stick out any but the leather also has a different feel to it, one that I like very much :D

Anyways that is my pick.

best handle on a production knife? emerson SOCFK or Spec -War hands down for me, closely folled by the BM AFCK series, axis and liner.

best on a custom?? Pat Crawford Kasper titanium fighter, hands down , and best overall imho. get a hold of a KFF and it aint going anywhere.

For me, the handle shape that seems most perfectly fitted to my hand is the shape of the BM AFCK and the REKAT Sifu with single finger groove. Those two are very similar, and feel most natural and comfortable to me.

Well I like two VERY different knife designs

LCS (Large Classic Seb.)
and Camillus EDC

I like the simple design of the Seb handle
and it seem to be just as comfortable.

But I like the "lines" of the EDC and love
having that little pinky thangy :)

Production: BM 940

Custom: Mike Snody handle that is used on the Retaliator, Resistor, and Reactor. They share the same handle shape, that's why I mentioned all three.

Cheers!

My favorite two folder grips are as different as night and day: the Camillus CUDA Maxx and the finger-grooved version of the REKAT Sifu.

The Maxx is smooth, but the indents, the "coffin" contour, and the dual guards combine to give me a secure comfortable grip in several different positions.

The Sifu has a rough, grippy surface that combines with the finger grooves to make it impossible to slip. I find that I can choke up or down on it in a forward grip. It also fits nicely in a reverse grip.

There are only a few things that I can see in commong between these grips. Both incorporate some nice indexing points that allow you to obtain and shift your grip consistantly. They also include "finger stops" of one form or another that prevent the hand from sliding under stress. Finally, I suspect that the indents on the Maxx serve a similar purpose to the textured surface on the Sifu in letting the hand bond to the surface without slipping.

That's an easy one. I'm in love with the ergonomic grip on the Camillus EDC. It makes the knife literally feel like an extention of my hand. I love my Sebenza, but much prefer the grip of the EDC. If Camillus were ever to produce a larger size version of the EDC, I might hang up my Seb for good.

For me it would be a tie. That would be the Sifu, and the Emerson Commander. Both have very comfortable handles in what ever grip you choose. I have an AFCK on the way so it's good to here that it has a comfortable well thought out handle.

I like the Spyderco Native. Love that deep finger choil, it really lets you get up on the blade and hold it securely.

The REKAT Sifu, AFTER the G-10 scales and liners have had ALL of the sharp edges removed and rounded.

The Spyderco Chinook also feels pretty good in my hand.

Endura fits me so well I think Sal Glesser must have the same exact hand size I have.

oh! that hump is just right:cool:

I'll any of the ergonomic Emerson grips.

The CQC7's is pretty bad, but I LOVE the Mini-Commander, Specwar, SOCFK, etc's.

Fits beautifully.

Saber grip with my AFCK...the Native has a different feel to it but would come a close second though...it's shorter and stubbier and feels very secure...
