Favorite folder under $50?

Buck Vantage Pro, small size.

I have plenty of higher priced knives, but this on ends up in my pocket 9 times out of 10 when I am trying to pick a knife to carry.

Spyderco Delica. They usually run $56-$58 bucks but I recently found a blue FRN Delica on the net for $49.95.

I really like the kershaw skyline for EDC purposes.

The best part is kershawguy has some limited edition blems on the forum for 25 bucks!

Actually if you shop around you'll find the saber ground Delica for under $50.
It's the most often carried knife I have.

I have the KaBar Dozier folder, Ontario RAT 1 and Byrd Meadowlark among others.

I have really taken a liking to the Byrd and would recommend it as the best value for under $20 with the Dozier folder my favorite for $$20-25 range.

Just got the RAT 1 for Christmas, so really can't give it a fair evaluation yet. It is bigger than the other two so it does not get my vote for EDC.

Dittos on the Buck Vantage Pro. It's a lot of knife for the money.

Well it's hard to get a decent folder <$50 in Oz. The only ones that are readily available are the Opinels. Nonetheless, Opinels are one of my favourite folders - often overlooked but still one of the best designs around - and cheap enough that losing one ain't gonna break the bank or heart. Gave a #7 in carbon steel to a work colleague - he likes it so much that it has taken No. 1 spot in his kitchen

Is the F&F and overall quality better since the early days when centering and such was an issue? Apart from all those stories, the BOS S30V does make this a bargain but I recall the early days of this knife came with poor F&F, etc.

I have multiple Vantage Pros purchased within the last six months, and the F&F is fine -- centered blades, early liner lock engagement, smooth action, etc.

my top 2;
1) Buck vantage pro (it may be just above $50 for the large one) great knife for the money, S30V with paul bos heat treat, and g10 scales. what else could you ask for?

2) RAT 1 folder. fantastic knife. got mine for about $25 and i used the hell out of it and it just keeps on going. blade flies out of the handle, and locks up like a bank vault.

also any of the spydercos are well worth the money, as well as most kershaws. picked up a skyline yesterday and just love it so far. it just disappears into my pocket.

Good to know - I might finally do it then ;)
