Favorite Foreign Knife?

User: J. Martinni leuku--my go to bush knife for decades.

Wish list: the Aceros de Hispania stiletto penknives. Wish I could find an American distributor.

I have to say Victorinox.

Got my first one in the late 1960's, and I've had one ever since. No matter what other knife was my knife of the day/week/month, there was always a Victorinox around. Looking back, Victorinox may have been my favorite knife for most of my life.

I don’t have that many knives from foreign knife companies yet, but I’m really pleased so far with these folders:

EKA Swede 8 – Sweden
EnZo Birk 75 – Finland (via Taiwan?)
Fallkniven U2 – Sweden (via Japan?)

Victorinox gets the most pocket time as for foreign knives.
I always have at least one on me, Minichamp on keys.

I have three that immediately come to mind:

Kershaw Lahar (Japan) - One of my favorite knives, period, and as close to the ideal folder as I've seen. Superb EDC knife.
SOG Vulcan (Japan) - I love the Vulcan design, and while I can't say I bought mine for routine use, I can't think of a reason not to.
Kershaw RJI (China) - My primary "after hours" EDC, only because I generally don't carry assisted opening folders at work. I made sure to buy a spare, and then a spare for the spare, as the plain edge black blade model is discontinued.

I like Muela knives, made in Spain, very good quality, especially the 80s/90s models. I have several different models, some of which I have duplicates, in case of loss, theft or catastrophic failure, I like them that much.

I'd have to say hands down it has to be ADV out of South Africa. Andre de Villiers is a true knife making genius and a true artist at his trade. Just got his latest , the ADV Butcher. What a great knife.

Opinel and Cold Steel get a lot of pocket time. Of course there are normally two or three USA made slip joints too.

I really love the lines of the Chambriard Le Thier series. It's the bottom one here:
