Favorite guard style on massive Bowies ?

Just to add to the eye-candy: some more examples of the full size bowie with S-guard or D-guard.

I'm going to go way out on a limb and guess that the D-guard on that Newton was pretty expensive.

I got a knife a couple of months ago from Ron Newton. It has a blade just a little over 12 inches. My thoughts were that this was going to be a huge knife. It's not.

Something around 11 - 12 inches with a southwest style blade around 2 inches wide is what I am lusting after right now. I have really started to like the wide blades like the ones on that Bradshaw I posted and the Dean D-guard. I also really like the meaty blades on a lot of Winkler bowies.

Here's a different view of the S guard of the Winkler shown above.

EDITED TO ADD: The angle that this above picture was taken of the Winkler makes the blade look more normal than the other picture I took of the same knife that I posted in my previous post above. Weird!

This knife has a 11.5 inch blade with a thick guard. I like a thicker guard on my Bowies.

Hey, I OWN that knife! But, my Wife, Morgan Fairchild, is telling me that I have to sell it. Yeah, that's the ticket! :D

You must have its twin brother.

Bo Bo (Bill for those not close to him) gave this one to me as a gift out of appreciation for introducing him to Monica one evening at a "Big W"(aka Whitehouse) Gala. She really is a sweet girl...a little snaggletoothed...but a sweet girl. :D
