Favorite Handle Material!!!

I dunno about bowies.., probably a nicely figured wood or stag.

Hunters, I think I prefer fossilized mammoth. A hunter doesn't receive a *lot* of abuse, and mammoth is really pretty.

For a fighter, I'd guess micarta. Tough and utilitarian.

Unless the knife has a composite 'one piece' (actually usually two or three pieces) handle, the objects fixed to the tang to enhance grip are referred to as SCALES.

In order:

Canvas Micarta
Linen Micarta
G10
Stag
Wood

I also like way the handle is made on the one-piece line by CRK.

Timmy, don't be so mean.

Codpieces went out of style after the 16th century. My favorite pair of shorts are some Mudd olive drab cargo pants that were made in Taiwan. My favorite rubber? Well, I've only tried one, and it was a cheap one. Lifestyles brand or something like that. I just wanted to try it on... I'm far too conservative to actually use it.

And here is Mayo's talonite folder:

And... my favorite handle material is G-10. GV6H is alright too. Better than Zytel.

BTW, Tim, have you considered using your knifemaker talents and inventing a titanium codpiece? You might bring codpieces back into style. I know I would buy one! How about a G-10 one as well?

chang,

i am saddened you had to post the lame mayo pic again. i thought you had better sense

i honestly think everyone has seen it quite enough.

got to the review forum, the talonite thread and see more of his same swisscheese knife.

I dunno Tim. I for one have Not seen Mayo's swiss cheese knife enough yet. In fact, I am afraid that it has addictive powers. Probably some sort of Hawaian Voodoo curse or something. You only know that you have a problem when Too much is Just enough.

If I Don't open a thread and see the knife, I feel a strange kind of loss and dissapointment. I like reading the same things over and over and over and over and over....

BobH, please don't take Mr. Herman too seriously (Tim hates to be called Mr. Herman). There Have been great number of repetitive, silly, and just downright dumb posts lately. But that would seem to be a natural consequence of having many new members. I don't really mind these posts. But I only rarely respond to them. For some reason only understood by them, Tim and Chang have decided to use your thread to make a point. That's all. It is Not personal.

BTW: I collect handforged hunters. I like all the natural handle materials (wood, stag, horn, tooth. and bone).

You can see my collection at: http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=953840&a=6978796

I will gratefully leave it to other(s) to determine whether or not the same applies to your codpiece.

I only take Timmy seriously because he finds hot Asian girls to model with my Changbenza (cardboard knife) knives.

I have another one that Timmy created for me, but I can't show it because it has (o)(o) showing.

I prefer Canvas Micarta. It provides a great grip even when wet.I think Linen Micarta is a little nicer looking though and still provides a good grip when wet.
