Favorite handle scales?

Without a doubt, the stacked birch-bark on my puukko is the most comfortable, luxurious handle material I have encountered. Not being "scales", the birch is not really suitable for slipjoints. Stag on those, but I'm jonesing for some ebony here soon.

My favourites are wooden scales. They are a joy to gaze at, with their individual grain and different appearances depending on the light.

i know i am new to it.
BUT i REALLY liking the feel of my new ebony scales on my 85 !

I've always been partial to nice popcorned stag. Next up is jigged bone if it's done well.

i also like 70's case delrin
i also am a fan of gec goldenrod micarta

for me it really depends on what knife its on

before my gec i would agree with the jigged bone (no stag to compare) well done jigged bone is a thing of beauty
but bone scales are...cold
ebony is "warm" in the hands...i am not sure how to describe it...but its something i've already noticed over the past 2-3 days

not disparaging your opinion, but i posted my original post while at work and didnt have time to expand on the why's :D

I like them all. Wood is very nice. I love the burls and the stripped grain woods. I like stag. Stag can be great or bad; it is not consistent enough to be my favorite. Bone properly done is fantastic, but again not all bone is done well. However, there a multitudes of variations on colors and jigging; you can find something that will strike your fancy. I like micarta quite a lot, but it lacks character sometimes. But it is a pretty consistent material. Stone, is pretty, but fragile and heavy. Various ivories are beautiful, but expensive.

So, for me, I generally take up with wood or bone. I will pick up a stag handled knife on occasion because it is such a nice material. My customs both have micarta.

Edit:
I had to come back here and make mention of the fact that I am really fond of pearl and abalone. I have several knives in these shells and I just love them. I only use a couple with any regularity as shell chips easily and the older I get, the droppier I get.

Bone, Stag, Micarta, Wood. Depending on the quality of any of them the order could
be mixed up.
