One think I love about CRK knives is the broad offerings of inlay materials. What's your favorite?

As for me, I struggle with the answer -- 10,000 years old, way cool natural color variations, stable, and beautiful, Mammoth ivory bark might be it . . .

You're killing me Fooj, stop it. Nice Mnandi. I too am a huge fan of the bark ivorys depending on colors. I really like the grey micarta of lately as well, but would truly love to see Chris start using carbon fibers of not only black but multi-colored.

Pfew...,that's a tough one,Fooj!!!

I like mammoth bark/inner cut,desert ironwood,box elder,lignum vitae,ebony and micarta.

definitely:
1. Mammoth ivory (inner cut)
2. micarta

Next 3 mnandi will be :
3. mammoth outer cut ivory (maybe)
4. african blackwood
5. ironwood presentation burl
6. box elder (no pink spots if possible, otherwise as much pink/red as possible)

I would vote for the micarta inlays first. I won't worry about damaging that inlay. The next one I like is any of the wood inlays but I would try my best to take care of it and not scratch it:). Mammoth ivory would be too delicate (well at least I think it is) and expensive for my taste and I would cry like a baby or scream like a madman if I would screw that up.

I LOVE Mammoth Ivory Bark; THAT is gorgeous!! Your Mnandi is incredible!!!

Anyone EDC mammoth ivory (seems like I recall that Adam might . . .)? Any reports as to how it's done with everyday use?

I carry my lg. LE bark mammoth ivory daily, even to work, attached to my pocket. I don't carry other stuff in that pocket, like coins, etc. to keep it from getting scratched. But it doesn't seem fragile at all and I'm not scared to use it. Nobody understands, though, why I spent so much for a 'pocket knife'. Oh well. To each their own, as they say...

How long have you been EDC'ing it? CRK puts an especially fine surface finish on the mammoth ivory. Have you noticed any changes in that finish from everyday use?

I've only seen one of these before -- Piter's. If possible, please post an image.

I've had this LE for about a year now, and I haven't noticed any change at all. I can't post a pic- I don't have the permissions.

Cocobolo inlay is my favorite.:)

Micarta is hard to beat for a user. I like redwood, buckeye and spalted maple. I have a bark ivork Mnandi that has seen a lot of pocket time and it has worn well.
