This is the new poll with Micarta and Snakewood listed as choices.
As with the previous poll, multiple choices are permitted.

Micarta & Lignum Vitae are my favorites. Lightning strike carbon fiber inlays would be pretty sweet.

Thanks for the poll.
Most beautiful: Mammtoh Bark.
The one I carry: Micarta
The latest: CF --> looks like a winner to me.

CF and Micarta followed by Bocote, Blackwood/Ebony, Bone and Mammoth

Ivory (creamy) and lignm are the least interesting for me

So after 58 voters have submitted their choices we have the following top three:
  1. Micarta (27 votes)
  2. Mammoth Ivory Bark (19 votes)
  3. Box Elder (16 votes)
I own all three of these inlays and must admit that I am surprised to see Micarta in the lead.

I voted micarta, but now that I have one with Wenge. I would call it a tie.
I've had a lot of woods, and this Wenge is my favorite for sure. The texture, and feel, of this wood is amazing when you have it in hand. Looks great, and has good grip.

mammoth ivory/bark
redwood burl
amboyna

it's really hard to pick just three when they are all beautiful :)

So after 74 voters have submitted their choices, the top three remain the same:
  1. Micarta (34 votes)
  2. Mammoth Ivory Bark (24 votes)
  3. Box Elder (20 votes)
Let's see some more votes!

Update after 88 voters have submitted their choices, the top three still remain the same. Bark is gaining on Micarta though.

  1. Micarta (37 votes)
  2. Mammoth Ivory Bark (30 votes)
  3. Box Elder (23 votes)

Maybe because bark features more color variations than ivory and there's less of it?

That makes sense. And I'm also surprised that Micarta rates so high; it is not exactly a rare material compared to the others. I have one WH with Micarta scales and really like the feel of it.

I am too. I see micarta as a great choice on a user knife, but I'd never collect it. Not Mesquite, Honduran Rosewood, etc.... That's stuff I collect.

My true favorite 'inlay' isn't in the poll, graphics.

I'm actually pretty impressed with the way the Micarta blends into the Ti scales on my Large Sebenza. I like it as well if not better than some wood inlays I've seen. Having said that, I voted for Desert Ironwood. So that should tell you something.
