favorite internet dealers??

Hello all. I've got a newbie question to pose. I didn't have much luck searching the archives for this question so I thought I'd throw it out there.

I was wondering where everyone prefers purchasing their production blades from. I live in an area in Michigan where there are no decent shops to check out knives, so I rely on purchasing on the internet after checking opinions on this forum or other sites.

I have purchased from knifecenter.com and onestopknifeshop.com, but not really any others. Any other suggestions for good prices and quality customer service? I haven't had any issues with these 2 sites, but I'm guessing there are some horror stories out there in cyberspace.

Thanks for the opinions!!

There are a lot of very good dealers out there. My favorites (in no particular order) are Himalayan Imports, New Graham, 1SKS and Bayou LaFourche.

Welcome to Bladeforums! We have a whole forum for this subject -- I'll move this thread there for you.

Welcome to the forum, I can certainly recomend A G Russell as as a crackerjack. the web site is good for hours of kid in a candy store type cruising. BJ

actually not 1sks, i ordered a benchmade 710 and it let me order it. So i called today and they tell me its out of stock and they have no idea when they will get more. They tell me to wait 14 days. Not going to happen. Cancealed the order.

I buy mostly from 888knivesrus
My brother has bought stuff from NewGraham
I think both are absolutely top-notch.

i've ordered from a few places, but the one that stands out the most and the one i'll recommend to anyone is www.newgraham.com the only one i know of that sends you bandaids in a little case with your order :)

* AG Russell, top-notch knives including many of AG's own designs, the very best service and guarantee. Also check out his "Knife Collector's Club" and "Cutting Edge."
* Smoky Mountain Knife Works - good prices on many factory knives such as Buck, Case, Gerber, etc. Occational "warehouse find" or "new old stock" offerings. Stay clear of the Frost/United crap they also sell.
* Northwest Knives and Collectibles - monthly catalog of vintage knives
* DLT Trading, excellent source for Northwoods and Bark River
* Knife Outlet

Additionally, I sometimes find desirable knives at Sierra Trading Post, Sportsman's Guide, etc.

Happy shopping,
-Bob

I have two suggestions. One is for general knife purchases and the other is for a custom knife maker. I've purchased quite a few folders from Botach Tactical and the prices are just about the best I've found anywhere. The selection is large and service is great. For custom knife makers I believe that Daniel Certo who custom makes Relentless Knives and who in my opinion produces by far the most durable and useable knives at the very best price anywhere. His craftsmanship is A1 and each knife is meant for extreme use. My every day carry is his Viper which is a six and a half inch fixed blade in a snap on Kydex sheath. Take a look at Botach Tactical for folders and Relentless knives for fixed blades and you won't go wrong.

I have had good experiences with:
888knivesareus,
knifeworks,
thebrightedge,
newgraham,
swinguard,
and eknifeworks.

Bad experience with Bo-Tach Tactical - would not recommend them.

Excellent purchasing service from:

New Graham
1sks - (connected with this forum, oh by the way...)
Spyderco Factory Outlet
GPKnives
John FJenson.com
Island Security Store

Almost amazing customer service from

Strider (most incredible)
Spyderco (excellent - several times over)
Blade Tech (fastest)
Al Mar (pleasant and right on)
Buck (pleasant and right on)

My sincere apologies If I am forgetting someone.. I'll edit later if need be.

I've had consistent good service from www.knifeworks.com

The guy actually CALLS you and appologizes if something is out of stock, calls the manufacturer to see when he can get you what you wanted, and gives you multiple options on what to do about it or will politely cancel your order.

But most of the time it's just good service at a good price and the item arrives in a few days.

Be careful with 888KnivesRus. The two times I've ordered from them the item has been out of stock...no call, no email, nothing, just "Order pending". Still have an "Order pending" for a BM 635 from March 14...

The web site does not even attempt to show when something is out of stock...

Very frustrating and too many good internet dealers to play this game.

I ordered from this merchant on 4/121/05. To date, no goods have arrived. no status is available, and the merchant has ignored three e-mails.

Oh, the items were supposedly in stock.
